Minty fusion

I love all shades of mint and teal.  So this week’s challenge over at Fusion had me screaming to play along!

To get creating, I turned the sketch horizontally and made a feather the “rectangle” focus. This adorable feather is by Hero Artsfusion card 7

Where the circles are on the sketch, I switched to chevrons.  These chevrons are from a stamp set by Amuse Studio

I just love the fun it is to play with the fusion challenge and see if I can incorporate the sketch AND the inspiration board!

And that’s my card for today!

Thanks for visiting!

Pink and Main turtle friends

When I saw the new challenge over at AAA cards, I was so excited!  If you’ve visited my blog before, you know that I LOVE card challenges!!!  And this one is a totally new and fun idea.  Here it is

pink and main challenge image

pink and main challenge image 2

How fun is that?!!!

So I picked the 3 things I would add to my sentiment and they were “an inked stencil pattern”, “a trio of small embellishments”, and “colouring pens or pencils”.

Pink and main 10

Aren’t these little turtle friends from Pink and Main so cute?!!  I colored them using Prismacolor pencils and some gamsol.  My trio of embellishments are the 3 sequins and you can see the inked stencil behind them.

In this pic you can see that I also added some shimmer to their cute little shells

This will definitely be a challenge I participate in each time it comes up!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

CAS(E) this Sketch Wreath

Here is another wreath card!  I’m telling you, I’m being serious when I say I could play with this wreath builder for hours!  It’s so much fun!

I used bold bright colors and then made it into a simple card using the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #311

I used 3 different Gina K. stamp sets to create this card

gina k 13

One of my favorites is the Tiny Wreath Builder because all the little pieces come in so handy to finish off any wreath!  I added some Nuvo drops to make the centers of the flowers pop

And this card is finished!  Clean and Simple

Gina K. Thankful for You wreath

Hi!  I hope you are having a happy Saturday!  I had so much fun sitting down to a few of my Gina K stamp sets and making some really fun wreath cards with the wreath builders!  Today’s wreath is small, soft and simple.  I’m going to share another one in my next post that is big bold and bright!  I went along with the monthly challenge over at Gina K for inspiration.

Gina K monthly mix

The theme is “Flower Power” and that is why I thought it was perfect to put together some wreaths.  Once I get going, it’s hard to stop!! I just want to keep trying different colors, images and patterns!

So here is my first for today

Gina k 8

I used really soft colors for this one and made it using the mini wreath builder

Gina k 6

I love the mini wreath builder set because all of the little elements are great fillers with other floral sets in making a wreath!  (You’ll see that in my post on Monday)

Gina k 7

Add a Gina K coordinating envelope (her’s are my favorite!) and I’m ready to send this one off.

Gina k 5

On my Instagram account there’s a quick-speed video of this card coming together if you’d like to go take a look!  I think the wreaths are a blast to watch come together with these wreath builders!

Come back Monday for the big, bold and bright wreath card!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sweet Birthday

Today I’m pulling out the adorable Cool Treats stamp set and dies by Stampin’ Up! for a fun birthday card for a friend.  My inspiration came from two challenges.  The Global Design Project’s color challenge this week

gdp 11

And also this sketch over at Paper Craft Crew Challenges

ppc 1

And with those two fun challenges in mind, here is the project I made

Gdp 8

I think this set is soooo cute!  And I love all the coordinating dies that come with it

gdp 10

One of my favorite accent products by SU! is their clear enamel dots!  I can take any color of alcohol marker and color them to coordinate with my card like I did here with the Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green!

Thanks for stopping by today!

My next card is going to be a “no stamping” card and I’m excited to share!  See you soon with that.

Have a wonderful day!

Lawn Fawn Interactive

Hello!  It’s a baby card for today!  And the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge was perfect for a fun idea.  They are featuring Lawn Fawn products with this challenge so I pulled out the Hello Baby stamp set and dies.

The challenge is to make the card interactive!  I was really inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire’s recent videos teaching how to make a hinged card.  So with that idea, I got making this baby card

lawn fawn 7

That front little frame is a hinged piece!

To add to the interactive theme, the inside also has a fun little movable piece – a baby onesie on a hanger!  It comes from the Little Bundle set by Lawn Fawn.  Their stamps are always so complimenting of each other! I used Zig Watercolor markers to color all the images very softly.  Doing my best to do color frequently with the fun reminder from the 30 day coloring challenge over at The Daily Marker 🙂

To see my card in action, head to my Instagram account to watch the little video in my post and on my story!

1 Sketch 3 different cards

Hi!  I did something fun with this round of stamping.  I took the Stamp Nation Birthday Bash sketch challenge #3 and made 3 different birthday cards using the same color combo but 3 different stamp brands and slight variations of the sketch.  Here’s the sketch

stamp nation sketch

For my first one, I used products by My Favorite Things to participate in their Birthday Project.

3 cards 4

I used the Birdie Brown Greetings Galore and the Modern Blooms stamp sets and dies by MFT.  The stitched frames are from their stitched rectangles stax.  There’s a good chance I use dies by MFT on 90% of my cards!  They have so many useful and versatile dies, especially in their blueprints section.

3 cards 5

3 cards 8

My second card uses the Bits and Pieces stamp set by Concord and 9th.  Again, same color combo of the soft green, peach, plum and pink.

3 cards 14

3 cards 7

3 cards

And for the 3rd card, I went very simple and clean.  I used Stampin’ Up! stamps and dies and it’s a pocket card

3 cards 2

When you pull out the card inside, there is the “Birthday”! Such a cute pocket die set

This was such a fun challenge I gave to myself!  That’s one of my favorite things to do too – create my own kind of challenge to stretch myself and use my supplies in different ways.  Everything can be so versatile!

And now I have 3 cards to add to my birthday card stash!  And I definitely need more.

Have a wonderful evening!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a sweet little Valentine card.

My Monthly Hero

Hi again!  It sure was a crazy December.  In addition to all of the holidays, we lost my husband’s sweet grandma.  So my cardmaking fun has been set aside.  But it has felt so good to sit down to it again this past week and today I’m going to share a fun project I made with the new Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit!  This might be one of the cutest kits EVER!  It is sold out now so I’m so glad I snagged it the moment I saw it.  It’s the first one I’ve ever bought but I’m certain it won’t be the last!  It was such an amazing deal and so adorable!

To kick off my inspiration again, I used the current Fusion challenge over at Fusion card challenges, which also happens to be their 5th Anniversary challenge!  I hadn’t heard of it before but I’m happy I came across it because it is so different!  Here it is.

fusion january

How fun is that to have 2 options that can be used either separately or together?!  For my first time with this challenge, I used just the sketch.   I also made the card clean and simple to go along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which was to make a clean and simple card using Hero Arts products.

And here’s my card!

fusion card 3

I used colored pencils to color the images

fusion card 4

Then added a few little embellishments to give interest

fusion card 1

Put it with a coordinating envelope and the card for today is done!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
