Freshly Made Wedding

There’s a lot of romantic love in the air!  We keep getting wedding announcements and that means I need to build up my stash of wedding cards!

For this one, I used the Freshly Made Sketches #367 challenge for my inspiration.  I love playing along with Freshly Made Sketches because I love a good clean card and this one usually can have a little layering or dimension.  I was so excited to be chosen as a Princess in their challenge last week with my Poinsettia card!!

So with yet another beautiful and simple design to work with, I started playing.  I ended up using this beautiful Happy Day set and dies by Concord and 9th.

I chose colored pencils with Gamsol for the coloring

And I added Wink of Stella with Glossy Accents over the top on those flowers.  The little sequins with pearls tucked in added a sweet center to them as well.  I got those from Stampin’ Up! awhile back and it was fun to pull them out again for this

And that’s one wedding card down – 4 more to go!  What a sweet time for all these new couples.

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Joy

I have a clean and simple card today to enter in the Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge and Design Team Call!

Freshly made sketch image.jpg

I had so fun playing with this sketch and this was the final design I decided on

Freshly made 14

That gorgeous poinsettia is from a stamp set by Gina K called a Year of Flowers 1

Freshly made 9

The joy stamp is from Spellibinders and the beautiful die behind it is by Sizzix

Freshly made 8

I brushed over the die with Wink of Stella and it gives a subtle and pretty shimmer when you turn the card just right.  Not real easy to catch in pictures but oh so pretty in real life!  I made the center of the flower stand out by using gold stickles and it brings out that shimmer from the Wink of Stella behind it

I love the clean simplicity of this sketch design and I love the way this Christmas card turned out!

I think it would be a blast to design for Freshly Made Sketches because I just love a good clean and simple card!  They pack a good “wow” into a very do able card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be playing in the next FMS challenge too.  Can’t wait to see what it is!

Have a super happy day!

Another One Layer Christmas Card

I made this simple and pretty one layer Christmas card today for the Less is More one layer holiday card challenge.

I absolutely loved the “Merry Christmas” sentiment by Gina K!

Less is more 4

And I loved turning back in time with the ornaments!  These pretty ones are from an old Stampin’ Up! set.Less is more 5

A little sparkle dresses it up just a bit more to give it some extra “pretty”!

Less is more 3

I love good one-layer cards for Christmas!  Easy to reproduce lots of them!  I get so many ideas that I can’t do only one style though!  So a few of each of several different kinds is more fun to me

Less is more 6

Thanks for stopping by today to see another clean and simple card.  My next card isn’t Christmas and has some fun dimension to it!  I’ll be back in a couple days with it.

Hope you are feeling lots of Christmas in the air!

AAA card – Mostly White!

Anyone who visits my blog or follows my Instagram, knows that I LOVE a card challenge!  I seriously live for them!  I see the challenge and can’t stop thinking in my mind all the different possibilities.

Well I found a new challenge blog!!  Yay!!  It’s AAA Cards.  A good CAS card always makes my heart pitter patter and this looks like a challenge blog for that.  Their current challenge is to make a card that is Mostly White

AAA cards image

So with this new Pink and Main Snow Globe set that I’ve been loving, I went to work on a mostly white, clean and simple card!

pink and main card 3

I used very muted tones to color him and I added white Wink of Stella over the coloring, which softened it up even more.

You can’t see the tiny touch of glitter on the snowflakes very good but here is an angle that caught it just a bit.

pink and main card 4

I love how this little guy’s hat is about to fall over his eyes 🙂  It’s the perfect card for this day where I live – it snowed last night and it is super cold!

pink and main card 2

And that was so fun making a card that is mostly white!  I LOVED this concept of a clean and simple card with very little color.

And that’s my card for today!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another CAS card that is only one layer with no dimension.  Hope you’ll visit again!

Have a happy day!

Pink & Main

I’ve had my eye on the adorable products by Pink & Main for awhile and they had such an amazing sale last week that I couldn’t resist getting a little haul from them!  Want to see something so cute?!!  Look at how their dies are PINK!  I’ve got a lot of product and never have I seen colored dies!  I love it! 🙂

I spent a little time having fun coloring the sweet images in this Snow Globe set.  After all, it is the last day of the 30 day coloring challenge by Kathy Racoosin and I wanted to take part one last time.

And it was time to add a couple of these to a card.  I was inspired by a “Card a Long” theme over at Stamp Nation.  It was “Alternative Color Scheme” for Christmas.  Lot’s of bright pretty colors that aren’t the traditional Christmas colors.  Pink stood out the most and  I’ve never used pink on a Christmas card so it was time to give it a go and came up with this square shaker card.

Less is More #385

Less is more 2

Today is a super clean and simple card!  I love switching my stamping up to do a good CAS!  I’m playing along with the Less is More challenge which is to make a one layer Holiday card.

This cute little Santa holding a Christmas list is so cute!  It’s a new one by Stampin’ Up! and I just couldn’t resist it!

Less is more

As I play along, I also want to wish Sarah well!  She will be leaving Less is More and while I don’t know her, she is obviously very loved.

And so I will also be playing along with this a few times so that I can enter for a spot on the Less is More design team!  I think it would be a blast to keep up the CAS stamping on a regular basis and take the fun challenges over there.

Have a wonderful day!!

25 Tags of Christmas – Day 1 Inspiration

Today’s tag was inspired by Carol Mayne’s tag on Day 1 of The 25 Tags of Christmas.

25 days of tags logo

I loved her craft cardstock stamped with the bold red Merry Christmas on it!  So cute!

Here is what I came up with from the inspiration her tag gave me.

25 tags sss

I used the Fa la la stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and I then had that song in my head the rest of the day! 🙂  But hey, I’m okay with it now that Thanksgiving is over!

With some embossing and some glitter, my simple tag was complete

Happy Thanksgiving!

We’re taking it waaaay back in time today!!  I have been loving a ton of new  products lately and I may or may not have just purchased too much for Black Friday… (the deals are soooo good!)  So I have also been making an effort to look at the old stuff I have.  I have gotten rid of a lot over the years, but I kept things I really liked and thought I might use again.  This Hero Arts Thanksgiving feast stamp is one of them!  It is from 1994!  I will never get rid of it because it is one of the very first stamps I ever bought myself when I came across this amazing hobby.

So I used it for my “coloring therapy” – which is part of Kathy Racoosin’s idea!  Color everyday.  It feels good.

30 day coloring logo

I love her 30 day coloring challenge, but I’ve always only observed.  Never shared my coloring efforts.  So before it’s over, I’m jumping in with this very simple project, using a very old stamp.

Have a very wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!  I hope it’s a wonderful one!

One of my favorite quotes is “Gratitude turns what we have into enough”.  Isn’t that a great one?  Perhaps it doesn’t work with stamps though… ha ha!

Much love!

Color Throwdown Tag

I am in love with the color challenge over at Color Throwdown right now!  Look how cute these colors are for Christmas!

color throwdown 519

So I was up for making something fun.  I wanted to also take part in the 25 Tags of Christmas for Day 18 yesterday.  And right there at the top was the beautiful tag by Kay Miller, using these types of colors!!  Double inspiration.

The company for the day was Neat and Tangled and I absolutely love this tree set by them that came in my Holiday Magic Stamp of Approval!  I got to work playing with the colors and the set.  Here is my tag!

color throwdown tag 2

My silver element came in with the tiny little ornaments in between the red and turquoise and then the start at the top as well.

I wanted to take it a step further and show how fun and easy and cute it is to turn a tag into a card!

The inside completes the sentiment

I just love this wonky tree and the baubles that create the ornaments!!  The sentiment is also Neat and Tangled and I love it.

I might have to make more Christmas cards with this super fun color combo!!  Thanks for the inspiration, Color Throwdown!

Have a happy day 🙂

Christmas tag with non-Christmas set!

I have been enjoying following along with the 25 Tags of Christmas!  It’s been a busy time in life and I wasn’t sure I was going to get to play along.  But I’m excited to be making time for stamping again and it’s Day 17 – so I’ve still got time to play!  I’ve been so inspired each day as I look at all the tags that so many talented stampers have created.

A few days ago, I saw a post somewhere (and I feel bad I can’t remember where!) that talked about making a Christmas card out of a stamp set that wasn’t even Christmas themed.  I wanted to make that a challenge for myself.  Since I don’t have a Christmas set by Avery Elle, and that is the sponsor for day 17, I grabbed my “Petals and Stems” set by AE and created a Christmas tag with it!  Here it is

Avery Elle Christmas 4Those stems and leaves and berries totally look like Christmas when stamped in the red and green!  I was inspired by the tag by Kim Heggins today.  I liked how the snowflakes hung off the sides of the tag – so I did that with the stems and berries.  I also loved the glitter paper on the bottom, so I added some to the top.  I also included bakers twine.

Avery Elle Christmas 3

Avery Elle Christmas

The sentiment is from the Fa la la stamp set by Simon Says stamp and I also added a few clear sequins (but you can hardly see those!)

I hope to play along some more!  Maybe even everyday for this last week of the event. Avery Elle Christmas 5
