Happy Winter in July

Double Trouble is having us think of Christmas in July for this month’s challenges!

Thing 1 starts us off with her 3-2-1 recipe

3 colors (neutrals don’t count) I used several different Catherine Pooler inks.  Rose Petals, Wintergreen, Tranquil, Seafoam, and Serene

2 layers

1 Holiday image – ice skate + winter foliage

Thing 3 wants to see stars and stripes to play along with the challenge at Jingle Belles! I used a circle die with stripes from Catherine Pooler plus some star enamel embellishments

Thing 2 invites us to play along with TSOT. This is just a sneak peek since their challenge doesn’t start until tomorrow. I felt like that sketch was screaming for a design where the point was tied with a bow

We hope you will play along with us at Double Trouble!  It’s a great time to get started on Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by💕

Stenciled floral

This is my 4th and final week as a guest designer with Just Us Girls. It’s been so fun!  Their challenges are awesome and I look forward to continuing to join along💕Thank you to their amazing Design Team for having me!

This challenge is Anything Goes using stencils

I used PinkFresh products for my card today.  I haven’t really used this set so I’m happy that this challenge had me looking through my stencils!

The set is called Heartfelt Thanks. It has 5 stencils that layer just beautifully!  It was actually so satisfying each time I got a layer done

I ended the stencil layers by stamping the flower outline in black. Gives it such a pop!

Thank you for stopping by to see my card!  I hope you’ll join along over at Just Us Girls 🙂

Slimline summer xoxo

A new challenge starts today with Double Trouble and we want to see your slimline cards!

To fulfill the recipe by Thing 1, you just need to be sure your slimline card has at least 3 layers and 2 images. I did several slimline layers and my 2 images are the lemonade scene and the little flowers

Thing 2 has a sketch to share from TSOT. Starting tomorrow you can play along!  Here’s a sneak peek

I used that sketch inspo for my layout design

I couldn’t decide how to theme my card so I looked at some other challenges for more inspiration.  I fell in love with the mood board at Four Seasons! Look at this summery beauty!

I knew I wanted that lemonade for my main image.  And those beautiful colors all over that mood board had to be all over my card!! I blended the panel like the sky and the layered piece like the ocean.

Thing 3 wants to see glitter so I made all of the little flowers nice and sparkly

This cute image of lemonade, lemons, and flowers came from my stash of Catherine Pooler. Haven’t used in several years! I love how the Shopping Our Stash challenge encourages us to do just that- dig into our stash! The slimline dies are also CP

Thank you for stopping by to see my summer card today!  xoxo!

Cheering you on!

I went bold and bright with today’s card!  Which is not something I do very often-  but this is my 3rd week guest designing for Just Us Girls card challenge and look at their mood board this week!

All those flowers are gorgeous and bright!! I knew I needed to be brighter than usual and it was actually so fun!

I was so inspired by all the colors and different kind of flowers in the mood board picture!

I saw the June challenge at PinkFresh Studio called “Flutter and Florals” and it inspired me to reach for my PinkFresh stash. I have so many beautiful floral products from them!

Here are the PinkFresh products I used on my card-

Floral – Garden Party die (This die is so cool!  It’s one piece and you get a ton of flowers and leaves with just one swipe through your die cutter!)

Background die – Simply Diamonds (I used it like a lattice background. Would be fun to add more layers for this effect but I decided to keep it clean with just one)

Sentiment – Basic Banners Everyday Sentiments

To get the variety of color, and shading that I wanted, I die cut all of it in white and used sponge daubers in several different Catherine Pooler ink pads.  I just love the colors!! All inspired by the beautiful mood board at Just Us Girls

Hope you’ll go play along!  Thanks for stopping by to see my card today!

Aloha!

I have a Clean and Simple card to share today for my second week guest designing for Just Us Girls. Here’s their theme for this week

Certainly we all have tons of cute summer stamps and dies!  My current favorite are these seashell dies by Hero Arts

I love any beach where I can collect seashells. It’s my second favorite hobby (next to making cards!) And the beach just screams summer! 🐚🌴

The 3D embossing folder is from Simon Says Stamp and the cute frame with a bow is from The Greetery.  I was inspired to use the frame with a bow when I saw the Double D challenge with the prompt to add a bow!  I love bows!

I layered the outside frame as well as the center frame with the bow 3 times for some extra dimension

That cute little “aloha” is from a set by Concord and 9th. I wanted a sentiment that spoke summer  and that was the perfect size too!

Thank you for stopping by to see my card today!  Be sure to head to Just Us Girls to play along with your summer card🌞

Today is all about you

Father’s Dayv is coming up and Double Trouble has a great challenge to help you get a card done for it!

Here’s the “My Guy” recipe and where the ingredients fit on my card

3 – washi tape and/or paper scraps — the two strips of pattern paper down the side, as well as the gray piece that my center rectangle is mounted on, are from a pile of scraps I had from a specific paper pad.  They worked great together!

2 – die cut elements — my panel is die cut and the center rectangle is die cut.  The buffalo is as well

1- Masculine project — this is my guy’s card for Father’s Day!

Thing 3 says to include an element that shows how your guy likes to spend time.  I did a buffalo as the main focal point because my hubby loves wildlife!  We used to live where we could go see buffalo and get were so neat

This buffalo is from a Close to my Heart set

That’s my card for today!  We hope you will head to Double Trouble and play along with your masculine card!

Happy Birthday

Hello! I have a pretty die cut card for you today! I’m excited to have been chosen to be the June Guest Designer for the Just Us Girls challenge. For this week, here’s the challenge prompt

And here is my card

The dies I used are from Scrapbook.com. The die set is “Treasured Garden”. I love how the cute butterfly has different pieces to it so you can easily use different colors

The background garden gate die is a very old one I have in my stash.  It isn’t labeled and I don’t know where it’s from!  But I wish I did – it’s really cute how this gate opens up. I didn’t get a picture with it open but you can’t really put much inside because it can be seen.  Just a fun element!

The Happy Birthday stamp and also the wavy circle dies in the background are also from Scrapbook.com.

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today and I hope you’ll go get the details to play along at Just Us Girls too!

You did it!

It’s that time of year for graduations! So I currently have lots of graduation cards going and it’s perfect for the current challenge at Double Trouble! They are having an 8th Anniversary Celebration Raffle

Thing 1 says to chose your raffle ticket and I chose green – graduation

Thing 3 wants to see some kraft paper on your project.  It was the perfect tone for the center of my little grad images!

I used these adorable graduation images by Close to My Heart. One is called “You Did It!” and the other is “Congrats Roll”.

The fun wavy circle dies are from Scrapbook.com and are new!  They are so versatile- I’m excited to use them lots!

I’m also playing along with the Inspiration Station challenge. Here’s their challenge photo and of course I was inspired by the graduates!

This is only one of many that I need to get done this week – as we have many awesome kids that graduated High School in our circle of family and friends this year.  Maybe I’ll just need to do them all the same.

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today!

You’re lovely

What a busy time of year!  I feel so lucky to have gotten this card finished lol!  But Double Trouble has a “wheelie cool” challenge going

The recipe by a thing 1 is

3 layers (card base does not count) – my card features a layer of pretty pattern paper, pinked circles in a coordinating pattern paper, and white circles layered inside. Then images layered on those

2 shapes – rectangle, pinked circles, banner tabs

1 image – I did lots!  Bike, flowers, balloons, etc

I used a Hero Arts kit from years ago!  It’s remained my favorite kit of all time.  I love the cute style of art that it is and all the cute images that it includes

I did a simple and light watercolor to color the images.

Thing 3 says to include a wheel, cam, or gears. I immediately thought of this cute bike and was excited to use it for my card!

Thing 2 encourages us to play along with TSOT. I loved the sketch so I used it for inspiration for my layout

And with all these fun details and challenges met, my card was finished!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are doing wonderful!

3 cards, 1 die, 1 color palette

I saw the challenge photo for the April Altenew challenge and loved it!

I grabbed a couple Altenew dies and had some fun.  The main die I used was the Rose Queen die. It has such a tropical look so I thought it would kind of match the inspiration photo. I made 3 different cards using it

The color palette is so tropical too! It was fun to just play around with different placement of it and use the die in different ways to complete each card

I also used word dies by Altenew.  I made each one a different shape or size

And a fun set was done!

Thanks for stopping by to see them today!
