MFT Camp Create Day 3

After having a weekend of getting kids all ready for back to school, I’m back to finish up my participation in the My Favorite Things Camp Create!  The day 3 challenge is

Web

And here is my card using what I learned in the fun video

mft camp create 8

I used the MFT “Beautiful Blooms” stamp set and some bright colors to create my bold background

mft camp create 12

And then on a piece of vellum, I created a bold sentiment using the MFT “Little Letters” dies which I put on a piece of vellum so you can still see that fun background show underneath

I love that this card stretched me to use these bright colors because I always tend to grab for softer colors but I love the way these bright colors turned out together!  I also forget to grab alphabet dies for sentiments and the Day 3 video was a fun reminder to do so

That’s it for today!  I’m finishing up my “monochromatic card” for the Camp create day 4 challenge and it’ll be up tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by to see my card for today

MFT Camp Create Day 2

Web

I’m having a fun time learning these new things that My Favorite Things is teaching through Camp create!   And this one is for day 2

Web

This particular type of masking is also something I haven’t ever done.  Like in the video, I also did both the positive and negative of the masking piece and here are the two cards that came out of that. I used the MFT sets “Modern Blooms” and also Birdie Brown’s Greetings Galore on both cards.  This first one had the mask covering all of the card except the circle, which I color blended in over the background stamp I had stamped and embossed.  Here’s the beginning!

For the second card, I used the opposite part of the mask to leave a white circle that I blended all around.  It gave a fun look to see the embossed background stay continuous but not colored.  I thought it looked cute to put the sentiment banner and some flowers over that part

Another fun technique that I enjoyed learning and trying out!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with my card made for Camp Create day 3!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

MFT Camp Create Day 1

Hi!  My cards today were made after watching the tutorial on My Favorite Things YouTube channel for Camp Create Day 1. Karolyn Loncon did an awesome job teaching how to do an inlaid die cut card.  I’ve never done one before so I was excited to learn!

mft camp create 1

It took me three times to get it right but I learned a lot with the first 2 mistakes.  Here is the final product

mft inlaid

The whole inlaid idea really gives it some fun interest!  Plus it will make it more easy to mail

mft inlaid 6

And to stick to my new goal of making more cards while I’m at it with one, I also made one that was close to the exact same but mounted up instead of inlaid

mft inlaid 2

mft inlaid 4

Giving dimension is something I already do on every card, so naturally I loved that version of it too!

Then I had some things left over from cutting all of that so I made one more card.  This has some inlay and some dimension

mft inlaid 3

The stripes and “love you” are inlaid and the hearts are stacked up for dimension – with some Wink of Stella added to them.   All the die cuts in these 3 cards are from My Favorite Thingsmft inlaid 5

I love them all and I’m excited for the new technique I know how to do now!  I’ll be back tomorrow with the Camp Create Day 2 challenge.

Double Trouble in the Kitchen

I found a new challenge!  Anyone who visits my blog or Instagram, knows how much I LOVE card challenges!  I just love how they get my mind thinking of different things and stretching me to use the challenge in my card making.  This one is called the Double Trouble challenge.  It not only gives one challenge – it gives 2 and 3!  It really gets me thinking of different things to make at least 2 of the challenges work with whatever card I’m on.

Thing 1 says to use at least 3 colors, 2 pattern papers and 1 sentiment or image

double trouble thing 1

2 pattern papers is the thing that stretched me the most here!  I have pattern paper, I like pattern paper, but I don’t tend to use it very often on my cards!  But I did it for this.  Here is my card

double trouble card 4

I used the “Baker” stamp set from Pink and Main and the layout was inspired by Thing 2 of the challenge! Which comes from another card challenge site – which I had never heard of – Try Stampin’ on Tuesday

And of course those cute little ingredients and whisk have to make something…double trouble card 2So when the recipient opens the card – there’s a cupcake!  Sprinkles and all

double trouble card 3

It was a very fun challenge to take and I look forward to getting in on “Double Trouble” again

double trouble card

Also – I’ve made a new goal for myself.  Every time I stamp a card, I need to either stamp 2 of the same card or else stamp another card with that same set before I put it away.  So here is my second card with this cute “Baker” stamp set

double trouble card 5

My sister owns her own bakery and it is amazing how fast she goes through mixing bowls, cookie sheets, mixing spoons and whisks and ingredients!

double trouble card 6

They definitely stack up like this and more in that fabulous kitchen of hers.  And everything that comes out of it is positively delicious!  So I thought of her the entire time I created these cardsdouble trouble card 7

So I think I’ll be giving them to her!

Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow 🙂

Stamp Time for my Kids!

I fell in love with stamping and cardmaking when I was 16 years old.  5 years later, I had my first child.  When he was just 3 years old, I let him sit up with me and have fun with this hobby that I loved so much!  He loved stamping all over the paper I gave him and he continued to learn new things the older he got.  That sweet little boy is now 20 years old!  And we have added 5 more to the bunch – 4 girls and another boy!  And every one of them love stamping now too.  We all make cards for each other for every birthday and they know exactly how lost their momma can get when I say “I’m going in my stamp room”!

So when Simon Says Stamp said that the Wednesday challenge was for kids this time, I knew I’d have at least one child want to participate and I was right!  My 2nd daughter who is 14 worked hard and had fun on these 2 adorable cards.

SSS kids

She used the Mama Elephant “Mermaid Kisses” stamp set and the sparkle comes in on the cute little water bubbles made from Wink of Stella and Glossy accents

SSS kids 3

Her second card was made using the “Life is Good” stamp set by Lawn Fawn

SSS kids 2

I love all of her efforts to ink blend and bring together this cute little scene!  And those sparkly seashells and flip flops are just so sweet!

SSS kids 4

I absolutely loved watching her creativity flow as these 2 cards came together.  I’m creating my own little team of stampers, that’s for sure!

Thanks for visiting today!

Sweet Thing tag

Hi there!  Today’s stamping was for a challenge that caught my eye over at Tag You’re It!

Look at this cute fruity image that screams Summer!Tag your it 11

Here’s where my inspiration went from the challenge image

Tag your it 6

I used the “You’re so sweet” stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and the “Fold Up Tags” die set by My Favorite Things

Tag your it 9

Those cute little crystals on it are by Pink Fresh Studio and I just adore them!  And with the fruit coated in Wink of Stella, there is lots of sparkle going on!

Tag your it 5

I love how easy and fun tags are to make, and even better, how simple it is to add them to a card when one is needed quickly!  Here is my fruity tag added to a card, ready to use

Tag your it 10

Tuck it in a homemade envelope lined with coordinating paper, and this cute little tag card is going to come in handy!

Baby Girl

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  It’s a great day for mailing a card 🙂  I made a sweet baby girl card for a card swap I was part of in my friend’s awesome monthly stamp club.  And right now, the challenge over at Paper Craft Crew is to share something we’ve been working on! PCC 5

So here is my baby card

PCC 3

I pulled out a stamp set by Stampin’ Up! that is 15 years old!  The “I’m Here” set with the cute footprints and hand prints is one that I knew I had to keep in my collection forever.  If you have followed me for awhile, you know that I am all about continuing to use stamps I loved and purchased in the past!  And this one was sure fun to  pull out again

PCC 1

I embossed those cute little feet that look like they are straight off of the newborn identification sheet at the hospital!  And with a few other embellishments, some layering,  and a sentiment from another SU! stamp set, my card was finished 🙂

pcc 6

I love how after a good swap, I’ve got a stack of cute cards ready to use when I need one quick!  And baby cards always come in handy

PCC 4

Thanks for checking out my card for today!  I’m just crazy about card challenges and working on another one right now.  I just may be back tomorrow to share that one!

Have a fabulous Monday and go stamp something!

Relax

Hi!  I’m back to the blog today after some busy time away.  I had so much fun jumping in on the Lawn Fawnatics challenge #56 lawn fawn 14

I love these shades of blues and greens and I love the beach!!  I pulled out my favorite beach set “Life is Good” and these colors and went to work.

lawn fawn 12

I couldn’t resist using some real sand from my favorite Florida beach inside those shakers!

I enjoyed taking the time to color all these cute images to also play along with the 30 day coloring challenge by Kathy Racoosin and I did so with alcohol markers

And with that, I wish I could be in Florida right now!!  🙂

No Stamping card

Hi again!  I had fun challenging myself to use no stamping at all on a card.  I went with a pastel color combo to play along with the challenge over at Your Next Stamp.

your next stamp 3

With the pop of brighter pink, the soft pastels really stand out.  Those cute dies are from the Leafy Accent dies by Your Next Stamp and I love them!  They go really good in wreaths and flower arrangements of all kinds!  I went over each of them with some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to give dimension and extra interest

your next stamp 2

I had so fun with this and it was like a little puzzle to get them to all fit nicely together!

That’s my card for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Tropical Shaker

I am in LOVE with all my new goodies from Catherine Pooler!  The Tropical Treasures release had me clicking “Add to Cart” quite a bit… I feel like I could lock myself in  my stamp room for days!  So no challenge I’m following for this post – just the product of my own stamping fun today 🙂

When I saw the adorable Springfield sequin mix in person – I immediately had to make a shaker card!

So here is the first, of many to come, using these fabulous supplies by CP

Catherine Pooler 4

How adorable is that sequins?!  I did add the miniature teal ones from a different collection.  But the rest is all in that Springfield mix!  I’m so in love.  Especially with those flowers!
