Bold Floral Thank You

Hello! I love the challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week! My favorite stamps are floral images and I love the ones by Altenew. So put those 2 together like Simon did – and I just had to play along!!

Here’s my card. I did a large square format for something different.

Fuchsia Congratulations

I did a technique I don’t do very often for today’s card – watercolor!  And I’m playing along with the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches

I did the water coloring by using different colors of ink pads

Hip to be square

Hi again!  It’s time for another Double Trouble Challenge and Thing 1 says “It’s Hip to be Square!”  Thing 2 wants us to join with any previous partner (see the list of these partners in the challenge post)  and Thing 3 says to use an old set (more than a year old)

No photo description available. No photo description available.Image may contain: possible text that says 'I'm more than Square and and have my retro stamp THING 2'

So let’s dive in with a square card!

dtc 54

I went with a masculine theme because I’m always wishing I had more cards for guys!  And not only did I use old stamps, I used REALLY old stamps!  In fact, these stamps used to be a roller wheel.  Remember those by Stampin’ Up! back in the day?  I loved the images in this wheel so much that I cut it apart and made them into stamps!

dtc 54 2

And they are perfect for a card that’s going to an outdoorsy kind of guy!

dtc 55

And that’s my square card, incorporating lots of squares as well as old stamps!  Since we all want to join in with a previous Double Trouble partner, I went with Crafter’s Cafe as they have Anything Goes happening with their challenge right now.  Go check them out and enter the card you are working on!

Thanks for stopping by

Good Vibes

I am playing along with CAS Colours and Sketches challenge with this card today.  I love doubling up on challenges to stretch myself with cards and this time around they are doing a sketch AND color combo

I thought the color combo was fun!  And I’m all about digging into the stash, even if something is retired, like these colors

CAS colour

I used the Paisley’s and Posies stamp set and dies and usually I will stamp these cute images out in color.  But I felt like taking extra time to color because it’s so therapeutic!  So I dipped a blender pen into the ink pads to do the coloring and I like the way these images turned out colored in!

cas colour 3

The sentiment “Good Vibes” is from a Gina K stamp set

And with that, the sketch and colors came together for this fun card 🙂

MFT Color and Sketch

Hi stamping friends!  I’m playing along with both the color challenge as well as the sketch challenge with My Favorite Things for today’s card

I immediately knew I wanted to make my 3 images (represented by the candles) into flower vases.  So I grabbed one of my favorite MFT sets Beautiful Blooms with it’s coordinating dies, which has these 3 cute vases in them

The heat embossed stems with sequins adds some fun interest to this clean card

Double Trouble 53

Hello everyone!  I’m so excited to announce that I have been selected to be part of the Design Team for the fabulous and oh-so-fun “Double Trouble Challenge Blog”!  I have had so fun playing in the past and now I look forward to joining them in creating the fun!

Today kicks off Challenge #53 over there and we hope you’ll join along!

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, “This is a One-Week Free-for-All Challenge so have a little fun creating with ‘Some Thing’, ‘Any Thing’ and ‘Every Thing’.”

challenge 53

This is the easiest time to join along!  Just share what you are making!

Or you can add the second twist by Thing 3…

THING 3: Twisted Sister
says, “Trouble Maker is always accusing me of things I didn’t do. Now she has a bone to pick! What does she want, a background check? Well, I’ll show her. Let’s create a background using scraps, leftovers, bits, and pieces… i.e. patterned paper, Washi tape, etc”

challenge 53 thing 3

I pulled out some scraps from my very favorite paper pack ever!  It’s an old one by Stampin’ Up! I just love the colors

dtc 2

And I had to add some of those scraps to the inside of the card too!

dtc 4

And now we must remember Thing 2!  It’s always fun to join our card into another challenge blog!  It leads us to new ones that we might not have known about and it adds one more prompt for our inspiration

THING 2: Double Dare
says, “I dare you to multiply the fun by linking your project with any previous partner(s). You will qualify for extra chances in our Random Draw. Make sure you read their guidelines carefully and observe their dates. We don’t want you to get into trouble with them.”

challenge 53 thing 2

Be sure to head over to Double Trouble to see the list of all previous partners and choose one to play along with!  It always gives lots of inspiration to join along with the different challenges that are out there

I chose the challenge blog “Try Stampin on Tuesday” and used their current sketch

And with those three prompts from the “Things” – my card came together

dtc 5

dtc 6

The cute Hello die is from Altenew and the adorable scallop frame is from Pink and Main

dtc 3

And that’s my card for today!

If you want to have some extra fun, this week they are doing something goofy.

thing 1 chip

Join us at National Goof Off Day and National Chip and Dip Day! We thought this would be a good time to Goof Off since many of us are staying at home and looking for things to do. If you have children at home maybe they would like to join, too.

Grab your favorite Chip Snacks or two… this can be potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips, crackers, pretzels, etc. The dip is any type that goes with the chip of your choice. While you’re enjoying your Chips… Look for Chip Shapes that resemble something else, or make something unique out of your snacks. But don’t eat your findings until you take a photo or two and enter your Chip Shape HERE.

My kids had a blast with this and looked at every chip before eating it!  They found these 2.  They said the first one is a poop emoji lol!  And the second one is obviously a heart 🙂 Your kids will be looking at everything they eat differently!  Take a pic at what you find and be sure to enter

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  Be sure to visit Double Trouble and play along!

Floral card set with Ink Road

I am sharing LOTS of cards today!!  I love love love stamping with floral so playing along with The Flower Challenge is always fun to me!  And this one is “Anything Goes”

And the color challenge/mood board over at Butterfly Reflections is where I started for some inspiration!

It’s not a color scheme I would ever think of myself – and a lot of times, I find myself forgetting to ever use blue!  So I took this challenge.  I started with this beautiful stamp set by Ink Road Stamps that I bought at Butterfly Reflections.  It’s called Bella Flora and I think you’ll agree that it is positively gorgeous!

ink road 10

Blue leaves?  Yep!  I’ve been working hard to think outside the box and these fun card challenges get me to do it!  It is actually something I’m finding rather fun – to color things in a way that isn’t necessarily “natural”.  And if it weren’t for this color challenge, I would probably have just done the standard leaf color of green

ink road 6

But it turned out fun!  And of course I had to add glimmer pen

ink road 4

While I was using these colors, I went ahead and made a little notecard with one of the other images in these colors

ink road 7

These flowers are just so pretty!!  And I love the font of the sentiments

And because I was enjoying coloring so much, I kept going!  I love to make sets while I have the supplies already out.  And with the 30 day coloring challenge at the Daily Marker, it’s the best time to join in all the coloring therapy going on!  Here’s the rest of the cards

ink road 16

Isn’t this one fun in the bright colors with the subtle stripe stencil?!  My son said this was his favorite of all of them

ink road 13

ink road 14

All of my coloring is done using alcohol markers

ink road 2

ink road 3

ink road

And finally, I loved this one extra much because of the soft colors.   I always love the soft color schemes!

ink road 8

ink road 5

And a touch of glimmer finishes this one too!

ink road 9

And with all that stamping, stenciling, and coloring – it’s a set!

ink road 11

If you head to my Instagram, I’ll be posting a video of the first one (using the color challenge) coming together in under a minute!

Thanks for stopping by to visit today!  I hope you are all happy, healthy and stamping!!

Hello You!

Is this color combo scrumptious?!!

sns color graphic

It was actually the Stamp Nation color challenge last weekend and I have been wanting to play with it since I saw it!

Well I received my goodies from Catherine Pooler and this cute lemonade stamp set was a freebie in it!  I couldn’t wait to put this color combo and stamp set together

sns color

I haven’t done watercoloring for the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge yet – so I did that with this one!  I did it with CP ink and a water brushsns color 2

Of course I had to had some glimmer pen to the cute glass of lemonade!

sns color 3

The sentiment is from 2 other CP stamp sets and I love the ombre “you”

sns color 4

And that adorable Circle Stripe die cute behind the lemonade is from the the new CP release!

sns color 6

I love how bright and happy these colors are together!  It makes me crave Summer and we just barely hit Spring!
