Sending Hope

Hello! One of my favorite stamp companies, My Favorite Things, has a really fun thing going on right now! The Card Design Super Star Contest

And while I think there are hundreds of stampers out there that have far greater skills than I do on these things, I sure have fun playing along and taking the challenge! I made today’s card for their coloring category

It’s not very often that I sit down and take the time needed to do a no-line coloring project. But since this is a coloring challenge, I wanted to do something that took more effort than my usual coloring. Something you can’t see in the picture is that I added Wink of Stella to everything and it gives the prettiest glimmer. Here it is at an angle in hopes that it can be seen just a tiny bit

I used the stamp “Floral Focus” by My Favorite Things. I went to the MFT store to find the set to include the link but it looks to be a retired set – bummer! It’s so pretty! I’m glad I pulled it out to give it some love

With a sentiment, some distressed edging, some flicked ink, and a few little sequins – my card was finished. I left the coloring to be the feature.

Thanks for stopping by to check it out! Have a wonderful week ahead!

2 Autumn cards

Happy Monday and happy new Double Trouble Challenge day! Today it’s all about Autumn – and there’s an extra crispness in the air this morning so these cards fall extra perfect

Thing 1 would like to see at least one circle. I’m really in a wreath mood so my circle is a Fall wreath

Thing 3 would like to see a Fall or Halloween theme and invites you to use this sketch by Atlantic Hearts

I used stamps and dies from Concord and 9th for this card

With a few sequins and a matching envelope, this “grateful” card is complete

Next up is another card using the same colors but different products. It’s a sneak peek for the sketch coming up over at Atlantic Hearts for next week!

This card features stamps and dies by Reverse Confetti. I was so sad to hear their doors were closing as I have loved their sweet products and even guest designed for them last year. This cute wreath goes perfect for the sketch you will see start up next week at Atlantic Hearts

Thank you for stopping by today and we hope you will go check out the details and play along at Double Trouble!

Happy Fall Ya’ll!

It’s a Double Trouble Challenge Blog Monday! This week has some Fall fun involved.

Thing 1 wants to see Fall/Halloween colors – particularly a few from the picture of leaves they have posted with the challenge. I chose all of them!

I used the Happy Fall Ya’ll stamp set by Kat Scrappiness as well as some of her fabulous mini slimline dies – Lattice frame as well as the Fancy Scalloped set

Thing 3 wants to see a pumpkin on your card. Easy enough since you will already be pulling out your Autumn colors, right?! I love these cute ones with the Fall foliage all around them

And finally, Thing 2 has us partnering up with Jan’s Digital Stamp Shop Challenge Blog! You don’t have to have one to play along (I don’t have any digital images as I don’t use them). But if you do, even better! Make a card using these fun twists from all the Things at Double Trouble and then be sure to head there to share with us!

Thanks for visiting today! See you again soon!

Autumn Congratulations

I haven’t done an ink blended background for a card in a long time. But I’ve been seeing so many pretty ones that I was in the mood to do a silhouette image over an Autumn ink blended background

The Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is to make a matching envelope with your card! I always mean to do just that, but don’t do it as often as I should. They are also showcasing products by Altenew. I haven’t used these stamps by them in forever but they sure make for a pretty silhouette of a jar full of Wildflowers!

I did make Reel of this one coming together. You can head to my Instagram to check it out. (I just checked on it and I’m not sure what happened to the music I added! Oops!🤷‍♀️)

Nothing like beautiful Autumn colors.

Thanks for stopping by to see this one today! See you again soon

Sending paper hugs

Hello everyone! I’m here today with a card that uses only die cuts! Not a single stamp is on this one and it’s full of gorgeous products from Kat Scrappiness!

Another fun thing about this one is that it is an A7 size. I haven’t done one of these in forever!

I started with the 5 x 7 Wire and Woodgrain die as the base for my design. I then cut out two sets of those gorgeous foliage leaves! Those are from the Stitched Foliage die set. I then colored each one of them with alcohol markers. I used 3 different colors to achieve the look and color scheme that I wanted

I then slid my fingernail along the edges of the leaves to distress and lift them to give more texture. And onto the card they went!

After cutting the sentiment, I also colored it the same way I did the leaves. This Sending Paper Hugs is the cutest! It says what every card is – a paper hug!! I love that this one has the shadow die to give the words a nice frame! Now look at those delicious little drops. Those are from the Ice Ice Baby enamel drops. The fun thing about them is that you can color them with any alcohol markers you have! And you guessed it – I colored them with the same ones I colored the leaves and sentiment with. Voila! Perfectly matching little drops. I will never have enough of these in my stash!

I loved bringing this design together with all it’s beauty and fun dies. Head over to Kat Scrappiness to get your hands on them!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you back here soon!

Love

Happy Monday and happy new challenge at Double Trouble!

Thing 1 wants to see dies or punches. I chose dies (even though I have a lot of punches that could use attention! ) I used several different dies on my card

Thing 3 would like to see some woodgrain on our cards. I incorporated this in 2 ways – the dry embossing on my card base, as well as the focal point on my little wooden “Love” sign

These cute stamps are from a Close to my Heart set

Thing 2 is telling us that if we used woodgrain on our cards, go enter it in the gallery at our challenge partner- “Use your Stuff”

We love to see what you create with each twist and can’t wait to see what you come up with for this one!

Thanks for stopping by today

Happy Birthday monkeys

Hello and happy September! Today starts a new challenge over at Double Trouble and it was indeed a challenge for me!

Thing 1 wants to see you is the 3-2-1 recipe. 3 colors of your choice, 2 embellishments, 1 stamped image (at least)

The 3 colors are figured out for you if you take the twist by Thing 3 and use our challenge partner’s color inspiration. We teamed up with the fabulous Cupcake Inspirations for this one!

That’s where it got tough for me! Those are never colors I would reach for normally! But I’m always up for a challenge when making a card!

But these cute little monkeys by mama elephant came together with that color scheme like a breeze

That cute happy birthday die is from MFT stamps and it fit perfectly across the bottom of this long slimline. My 2 embellishments for the recipe are the sequins and the ribbon

I’m eager to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge! Can’t wait to see the cards in the gallery

Your kindness

Y’all know I love shopping my stash and making sure I give love to older stamps! The best way to do this is to play along with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! And this time around, they want to see a tag

I used this cute stitched circle tag by Reverse Confetti and embellished it with lots of floral from an old stamp set of theirs!

In fact I wish that sweet didn’t retire! The little details inside the flowers is so cute!

I love using tags on cards. It’s a different way to add dimension to any card and it off course usually means there’s another cute embellishment- ribbon or string at the top of the tag! So they make for cute cards

Thanks for stopping by to see this one and I’ll see you again soon!

New Roots!

Over at Stamp Nation there’s a weekend challenge and I decided to play along before it’s a new weekend! The challenge is to make a card that celebrates something. I chose to celebrate someone who just moved into a new home!

I used two darling sets – Outside Your Window, and Planted

This Outside Your Window set and die is so fun because it makes the window open up to be 3D. My card is clean and simple, yet fun, because of those cute windows

This light blue is my absolute favorite color to accent with in my house so it was perfect for this little potted plant in this window. I used Hot Tub and Skylight together to make it the perfect color. That’s it for today. If you head over to my Instagram, I made a little Reel of it coming together! I’ll see you again soon!

Hello piglets

It’s Something Anything Everything at Double Trouble!

Thing 3 would love us to try out her twist of adding a pig

I used these tiny pigs from Hello Bluebird

Thing 2 says to pick one of our previous partners and play along with them too!

I chose Try Stampin on Tuesday’s sketch

I adapted the oval piece to be a sentiment strip instead so that the cute huge HELLO didn’t get covered up too much. That’s a die by My Favorite Things

The rounded corner stitched squares are from Pink and Main and were perfect for doing all the square pieces of the sketch

If you head to my Instagram, I have a fun Reel of this one coming together!

Thanks for stopping by! We hope to see the cards you create with this challenge. Be sure to head to Double Trouble for info and to every yours in our gallery!
