Magic pull card

My sweet 8 year old daughter loves it when I make a card that has a little “trick” to it. She keeps me thinking creatively when it comes to those things! So the other day, when she was feeling like one of these special kind of cards,  my memory recalled this technique. With some acetate and some accurate stamping, it’s actually so simple but gives a really fun “wow” to anyone who gives the tab a pull. â€‹

Isn’t that just so much fun?! This stamp by Simon Says Stamp worked perfectly for the technique.

Lots of happy stamping!

Buckle card

It’s an oldie but a goodie! The buckle card technique was calling to me when it came time to make baby shower invitations for my niece. It turned out so fun and her guests loved it! That’s one of the million things I love about card making- it usually excites the receiver far more than store bought cards do. â€‹

Of course after making 40, I wasn’t loving it so much ha ha! But when one of the guests told me she wanted to frame it, all the work was worth it.
I so love stamping!

Bermuda Bay hello

Just felt like stamping a very simple card today that was monochromatic. I used minimal supplies and the Stampin’ Up! Color, Bermuda Bay. Simple stamping is just as fun as taking lots of time. I love it all! â€‹

Have a happy day 🙂

Card set

I was at a yard sale where a lady was getting rid of packages of these cute, blank,  tall, turquoise cards. I took some old supplies and put together a few different cards that made for a cute set

Three of my favorite things to do when stamping

  1. Look at challenge to give myself an aim of what to stamp and how I’ll design my card.  Today I had the Global Design Project #55 challenge in mind!
  2. Look at project I love that someone else has designed for some inspiration.  Sometimes it’s the colors, sometimes it’s the layout.  And sometimes, it’s just the blossom or the sentiment!  But looking through Pinterest or a few of my favorite blogs usually has me chomping at the bit to sit down and get stamping!  These cards were inspired by this card set by Jennifer McGuire
  3. Give myself a challenge to look through what I ALREADY HAVE!!  I have so many supplies and love buying more!  But I have to stop myself from buying more these days and look at the amazing images, colors, embellishments, paper, etc that I already have and use it!!  These blossoms are from a Stampin’ Up! set that retired a long time ago!  But When I pull out the stuff I already have, it fills me with gratitude for the fun things I have to fulfill my crazy stamping passion – as opposed to filling like I need more more more.  Don’t get me wrong.  A new item added to my collection is thrilling too!!!

Oh how I love stamping therapy!

Happy day 🙂

Getting back to stamping!

image

It felt so good to sit down and take time on a card after busy holidays kept me from doing that much. I think this little girl, from a My Favorite Things stamp set, is so cute. Maybe I was drawn to the idea of a warm looking scene because it’s so freezing cold here in Utah! I made it for this addicted to stamps challenge.
My next goal is to sit down with some challenges and get creative on a consistent basis.

Paper Pumpkin

I love sitting down with each new Paper Pumpkin I get from Stampin’ Up! I thought the November kit was cute. Love their color “Cherry Cobbler” and it was the main color for the kit. I almost always switch it up a bit.

I added the gold foiling for some shine and those little gold pieces mixed in with the holly leaves? Those were from last month’s kit

I didn’t really like them on the card in that kit. But I thought they were cute tucked in behind the “Joy”.

Very simple

I just cut a little off the right side of the front of the card and added some coordinating strips on the inside.
Yay for a good Paper Pumpkin!
