1 card – 2 challenges

I always love a good clean and simple card. And the gals over at Case this Sketch always give fabulous inspiration to get started on one with their challenges. Today’s card was inspired by Sketch #204.

I couldn’t think of a color combo, so I also jumped in to another challenge by My Favorite Things. Their current color challenge is really pretty, so I used it to know what colors to grab for my card.

And here’s the card!

I used Painted Flowers by Altenew and Simply Fab sayings by My Favorite Things (a stamp set I grab frequently!) I brushed a Spectrum Noir glitter pen over the flowers to finish it up.

And a Clean and simple card is finished -with a new favorite color combo added to my list.
Have a happy day

MFT Sketch Challenge 315

Playing with this Wednesday sketch today by My Favorite Things.

I used the Beautiful Blooms stamp set and I couldn’t resist using some Spring colors! I’m sure it’s because of all the snow and gloomy skies where I live.

I love this stamp set and all the pieces that coordinate so well together. Not just pretty flowers, but long stems and foliage.

Another great thing about the set is how MFT has outlines around the flowers and their coordinating layers. Makes it easy to know what images go perfectly together!

Blueprints die cuts are a staple in my collection and were a must in bringing this card together.

The collection I have from My Favorite Things, really is among my favorite things in my stamp stash!
Have a happy day ☺

Mermaid kisses

I love this set by Reverse Confetti! It’s so cute and I couldn’t wait to use it. So for my daughter’s birthday, I took the opportunity to make it into a birthday card

Using zig clean color markers and then adding glitter at the end were perfect for this little ocean scene.  I had so fun coloring all the different little ocean pieces.

My daughter loved it!
My Kids’ Creativity
That sweet birthday girl of mine, also sat down to create with me. And I loved what she came up with yet again!

On these cards, she doodled the little images herself. I’m always impressed with her doodling!

Always happy with the time spent stamping!

Merry Christmas

It was a wonderful Christmas! I had so fun making these cards for parents.

The beautiful paper is from an old Stampin’ Up! stash. Pulling it out and using it, I easily remembered why I loved it so much back when I got it!

The alphabet dies are from My Favorite Things and were so fun to make in to a shaker feature!

My kids creativity
One of my favorite gifts were these beautiful cards that my 15 year old daughter made for my husband and I. Her words we’re filled with gratitude on how special Christmas always is. And to see those words in cards that were so lovely- my heart was so touched.

It was truly a Merry Christmas! And I hope it was for all

Quick Thank You’s

I needed two quick thank you cards. So I sat down to my stamp desk and with a few scraps leftover from other cards, I threw these together fast. I love this “fab sayings” stamp set by mft!

One of my favorite things about stamping time, is my kids sitting down with me to create too. Here is one that my 12 year old put together.

I was so impressed with the time she took on the details and did her own shading and everything!
Got the love of stamping in this house!

Paisleys and Posies

When I saw this set in the Stampin’ Up! Mini, I loved it instantly!  It was super fun to play with and I love that it has coordinating dies.

Making my card a shaker added a fun element to this fun set!

My favorite style is simple

I love making all kinds of cards! I like the kind that take over an hour and I like the kind that have layers and embellishments. But my greatest satisfaction comes when I have made a super simple card that is clean and beautiful in its simplicity. This card was one of those!

The MISTI made it very easy to make multiples, which is perfect in my quest to get lots of cards done for the Caring Hearts card drive.

I love this set from The Ton that came in my Stamp of Approval box last year. It’s got beautiful images to add a nice touch to any card, like these dots in between the holly leaves. Added a little glitter to give some sparkle and the card was complete!

Happy week preparing for Thanksgiving!

Caring Hearts

I love that Jennifer McGuire and her friends do this kind charity with handmade cards – the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I love what the purpose of it is and I’m excited to support it. And it also gets me going on Christmas stamping.   Here’s just a sampling of what I’ve been stamping. Can’t wait to stamp more and share more!

Not a day goes by without thinking about that room full of stamps and inks and dies etc!  And I’m glad I can use my passion for someone else, like those who will be receiving these cards.

Magic pull card

My sweet 8 year old daughter loves it when I make a card that has a little “trick” to it. She keeps me thinking creatively when it comes to those things! So the other day, when she was feeling like one of these special kind of cards,  my memory recalled this technique. With some acetate and some accurate stamping, it’s actually so simple but gives a really fun “wow” to anyone who gives the tab a pull.

Isn’t that just so much fun?! This stamp by Simon Says Stamp worked perfectly for the technique.
