I found another challenge that I love!  It’s the “Tag you’re it” challenge.  I’m participating in challenge #76.  I love tags because you can make a bunch of super cute ones and if you don’t use them as a tag on a gift, they are a quick way to make a cute card!  Just add a few extra things to a regular size card, pop a tag on it and a card is done.  Here is the inspiration tag this week.

And I was inspired by the colors on it.  It’s not a color combination I have ever reached for to use on a Christmas project.  But I like it!  So I challenged myself to use it.  Here’s my tag!

I love the tag die cut I used.  It’s from Lil Inker designs and makes for a cute edge without having to do a thing! It comes in a set of two and I cut both out.  So, of course I had to make something with the littler one!  I used the same color combo but without the Christmas theme.

I had fun carefully adding glossy accents to that leaf to make it stand out

 

And just like that, I have two fun tags ready to use.  Whether for a gift or a quick card!

My favorite type of crafting is positively handmade cards and creative lettering.  I think about both of them all day every day!  But I have another crafty love that I get to dip in to here and there – floral creations!  I’ve been doing a bit of it lately to update my Autumn décor.  I love decorating for Thanksgiving as it rivals Christmas as my favorite Holiday!

Here’s a Fall wreath I made – paired with some Fall pumpkins for an Autumn corner

And a little setup for my porch.  I loved making this little Farmer’s Market box full of a little “harvest”

Yep!  It’s looking a lot like Thanksgiving is coming soon around here.  (And it does excite me that it means Christmas is close by too!)

 

But my very favorite floral creation so far is this bridal bouquet that I finished last night!  The sweet girl I made it for is having a beautiful winter wedding theme.  I’m excited to see it in her hands!  You can see the beautiful color scheme she has chosen-which I am in LOVE with!

I sure love when it’s time to do something floral and I look forward to also doing her bridesmaids corsages and groomsmen boutonierres coming up soon.

So now it’s time for me to get back to my stamp room and take a few challenges that have caught my eye… 😉

I found a new challenge!  It’s one that I love the purpose of!!  It’s the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  They issue a challenge and you HAVE to use old stamps!  Why do I love this so much?  Because I have a craft room that is absolutely FULL of stamps!  I have gotten rid of many but I love the ones I have kept and it’s a lot.  So I love the idea that this blog challenges us stampers to dip in to these stashes of ours.  I love getting new stamps just as much as my fellow stampers out there – but if all I do is get and use new new new – I’m wasting a lot of money and really not getting my money’s worth out of them.  Here is the current challenge  RRCB73

And here is the card I’ve made for my first time diving in!

The stamps are from the “Carved and Candlelit” stamp set by Stampin’ Up! in 2004.  Holy cow!!  13 years old?!  And the little “Boo” tag up in the left corner?

That is from a tiny tag set that must be at least 4 years old and dare I say it?  I don’t think I’ve ever used that set yikes.  But that’s the goal here!  Get creative with the stamps we already have right?  It made me search in to the old stuff  and I love it!

Excited to keep taking this challenge and making fun cards from stamps that I’ve kept because I love them.

Last weekend was the General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It’s my favorite weekend of the year!  It actually happens twice a year – so I get two favorite weekends 😉

The messages are always full of inspiration, hope and encouragement.  Sometimes while I listen, I doodle little Zentagles.  I had really fun with this one and added one of my favorite Conference quotes to it.

 

It’s so super fun to play with patterns and it’s very meditative.  I find when I’m doing a zentangle while listening to talks, I am more focused on what is being said.  Many times throughout the Conferences, I have to pause my doodling to write down things that touched my heart and will help me in my life and others!  I hope we can keep filling ourselves with Light to stay focused on the good still in the world during these crazy times 🙂

Today is also World Cardmaking Day.  I’m going to stamp the day away and just enjoy my first crafting love – cardmaking!!  Those pics to come…

It’s been way too long since I’ve taken the time to get crafty!  It felt so good to get back to it this week.  I decided to join a small card swap for the stamp club I’m part of.  But I needed some mojo to get going again!  I chose to get the creativity flowing again by  looking at what challenges were going on right now.  This one by Global Design Project caught my eye.

I haven’t used those colors together before!  So I got to work and came up with a simple card.

And then made six of them

And I had so fun using this new color combination, that I had to make another card with it.  

 

 

It’s felt good to have my stamping therapy again!  I have plenty of reasons to keep it going.  And more time now that kids are in school again (knock on wood)

I can’t believe it’s been over 3 months since I’ve posted some stamping.  It got so busy with a graduation, an Eagle Scout, end of school, summer camps, etc.  I’ve stamped a little here and there but for the most part, I have really missed my stamp room!  So it was fun to get back to it yesterday and make these cards with one of my favorite stamp sets.  It’s the You Equal Kind set by Wplus9.

And since I had so fun stamping and cutting those cute flowers and leaves, I had plenty for two cards.

Now I’m feeling crazy to go do more stamping!

I LOVE the color Bermuda Bay by Stampin’ Up!  This week’s challenge over at Global Design Project is a color challenge that uses it.  I’ve never used any shade of peach with Bermuda Bay so I was ready to stretch myself with their suggested color combo using Peekaboo Peach and Early Espresso !  I used the fabulous Paisley’s & Posies stamp set and coordinating dies.  And here’s what I came up with for #GDP077!

I ended up really liking the way the colors coordinated together

I’m just crazy about all the cute images of this set and the fun pieces they make for cards

I’m back again today for the same challenge as last post.  It’s this picture!  I just love it!

Here it is again. The February Inspiration challenge by Altenew

So today I have another card that is inspired by it. It’s more on the fancy side!

In my last post, I shared a picture of the place we stopped in Florida to snap some pics of the amazing flowers on this building.  Here is another picture

So you can see why I couldn’t get enough of this challenge and had to play with it twice!  With the extra bit of elaborate style, this card captures the feeling of this picture.

Again, I just love this Painted Flowers stamp set and dies by Altenew!  I also used this beautiful Prayers set by Hero Arts for the sentiment.

I clear embossed the die cut image on black paper and mounted it on black foam for a thick look.

Overall, I’m sure you can tell I just LOVED these flowers in Florida, LOVED how the Altenew challenge reminded me of them and LOVED playing with Painted Flowers to recreate the feeling of both.

I LOVED the picture that Altenew used for their Inspiration Challenge!

Not only because it’s beautiful as can be – but because it reminds me of a memory I have in my favorite place – Southwest Florida.  I had my husband stop in front of this building just so I could get out for a picture because the flowers were so gorgeous!!

So even though it’s been an incredibly busy month, I couldn’t let the month end without participating in this Inspiration Challenge with Altenew!

I’ve actually made two cards for this challenge because my inspiration was overflowing.  Today is card one and is on the simpler side of card design.

I used the beautiful Altenew stamp set and dies, Painted Flowers.  I stamped them on vellum and colored the back side with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  After cutting them out and carefully adhering them, they added the delicate touch I wanted.

The cover-up die background is by My Favorite Things as is the sentiment.

My next card uses the same stamp set and color scheme but is has much more detail.  I can’t wait to share on Monday morning!

A quick post to share this fun card that I made a bunch of

I grouped them together in sets of 5 with envelopes
​​

Then I tucked them in to a sheet protector and sealed all the sides up using the FuseTool

And the sets are complete. I used the Modern Blooms set by My Favorite Things and was able to make a bunch pretty darn quickly using the MISTI tool.
