Hi again! I’m back on my blog today to play along with the Altenew Inspiration Challenge for January.

Isn’t that card gorgeous?!  Altenew has such beautiful floral images and I think my favorite images to stamp with must be floral because I reach for them the most.  To play along, I used the Altenew set “Painted Flowers” and it’s coordinating dies.

I also used the “Banner Sentiments” set from a muse studio to wrap across the floral

In many of the Altenew floral sets, there are layers that build the flower up to look so pretty by just using coordinating colors of ink pads.  Good for people like me who would love to watercolor images but don’t know that I really know what I’m doing when I attempt it ha ha!

Well I’ve never played along in the Lawn Fawnatics challenge.  But I loved all the cards I was seeing on the blog for it and decided I better give it a go!  The theme is “Fun with Food”

My very favorite Lawn Fawn set of all time is Milk and Cookies.  All of the images Lawn Fawn comes out with are adorable!  But I think Milk and Cookies is my favorite because it was the first Lawn Fawn set I ever bought and I was so excited to have one of their products in my hands.  So here is my “Fun with Food” card!

I gave it a little bit of a Valentine feel because love is definitely in the air with that day coming up!

I also used the Milk and Cookies coordinating dies as well as the Valentine borders Lawn Cuts.

I’m so happy it’s a New Year!!  I had a plan to make a card every single day the first week in January.  Yeah – that did NOT happen!!  But the 2nd week is usually when I recalibrate to make my goals happen better and I have definitely got some stamping in!  Some of my favorite stamps are from My Favorite Things.  Several of the sets I have bought have sat unused.  So when I saw their challenge this week, I knew it was time to sit down with some of these sets and put them to use!  I had so fun that I had to make two different cards with this sketch.

The first set I used with the sketch is the Sweet Succulents and the coordinating dies.

 

Those succulents!!!  They are so cute!!

Of course it’s hard to see the wink of stella in the pictures.  But the middle succulent is all sparkly with it

 

And like I said at the beginning of my post – I had so fun that I pulled out another set and made another card using the same challenge!  I didn’t want to be done stamping last night haha!  For this one I used the Beautiful Blooms stamps and dies

Simple and sweet.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE challenges!!  They get my creative juices flowing and make me think outside my own box.   Tomorrow I have one for the LawnFawnatics challenge, which I have never taken part of so I’m excited!

This has got to be one of the most fun things I’ve ever done creatively.  My sister is opening a custom order catering shop and it’s going to be awesome!!  She knows how I love to make zentangles or zendoodles on paper and trusted me enough to do one on one of the walls in her soon-to-be shop.  I was so excited!!  Here is the progress up to the final piece of work

It took about 3 1/2 hours and I loved every minute of it!  I don’t love how the light caught the paint in the last picture.  The previous pictures shows the pretty reddish orange behind the design much better.  But this last picture shows the most of the final piece.  Now I just want to keep zentangling on walls!!

 

I have a bunch of cards to make for friends and family so Christmas cards will be the next several posts!  I hope to take part in some fun challenges going on with them.

I was so honored to be asked to do the floral for a wedding that will be this Saturday!  I’ve always loved floral arranging and designing but it usually takes a backseat to my first crafty love of card making.  It sure is fun when the opportunity comes up though!  I posted the bouquet a few posts back.  Here it is again with the coordinating floral for the rest of the wedding party

The grooms boutonniere is on the right in the middle.  Then there are 9 bridesmaids wrist corsages and 9 groomsmen boutonnieres.  I also made the coordinating sign for her reception.

The sign was extra fun because I got to combine my love of floral arranging along with lettering!

This bride’s wedding is going to be gorgeous!  I love the wintery theme and colors.

Tomorrow I’m going to share something really fun that I did today for a custom order bakery that is opening next week!  With this busy season, I’m sure grateful I’ve had time to get creative frequently.  It’s so good for me!!

Stopping by with a quick hello!  I wanted to do something cute with this old Stampin’ Up! “Tree Trimmings” set.  There was an old sketch by Retro Rubber challenge blog that I intended to use awhile ago and never got around to it.  So I pulled it out for inspiration to make a card with these ornaments.  Here’s the sketch

I embellished each of the ornaments with a different accent – glossy accents, rhinestones and pearls.  What was fun was that I ran it through my big shot again after placing those embellishments.  So it flattened them out!  I’ve never done that before but it gave a cool effect!

Last week, I received my first ever order from Catherine Pooler’s shop!  It was seriously more like I was opening a birthday present.  Look at this

How cute huh?!!!

This was what I chose.  I’ve had my eye on it and couldn’t resist with the Black Friday sale she did.  It’s the Perfect Reason Bundle

So I had to take a few minutes to whip up a card.  To drum up my inspiration, I went to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and here is their current sketch

Grabbed some fun and happy colors and got stamping.  The great thing about the Freshly Made Sketches is that they focus on clean and simple.  So it doesn’t take long to come up with something when you don’t have much time.

And here’s my card

That Perfect Reason stamp set is soooo cute!!!  This was my first time using it, but it will not be the last.  The cute “thanks” sentiment is by Neat and Tangled and can also be found in the CP shop.

Just popping in with a shaker card using Stampin’ up! products.  I love the lamp post!

I’m determined to not let the season get so busy that I don’t stamp enough.  So even though my blog posts might get short, I’m still going to be adding to my card collections here and on my Instagram!

I was part of another card swap last night and the theme was Christmas cards using only Stampin’ Up! stamps.  So I sat down to create and needed a few ideas.  My favorite place to go?  Challenges!  So I pulled up the Global Design Project page and looked at their current challenge. It was to use these colors together

I’ve never used these colors together on a Christmas card so I was excited to take this challenge!  Especially because the projects from their design team looked so great using this color combo!

But I needed a layout…

Next step – look at another challenge!  I looked at Freshly Made Sketches and found a fabulous sketch

So with those two in mind, and my Stamp set chosen (an oldie but a goodie!!) I began my card.  I have to say that I LOVE the way these colors look together!  Here is what I came up with

I took the picture too late to use natural light so you really can’t see the vibrance of those 3 colors together as well as I would have liked.  But that color combo is a new favorite!

I added Wink of Stella to the snowflakes to make them shimmer – wish it showed up better in pics.  It’s so pretty!

 

It was sure a fun set of cards for the swap!

It was the first Christmas card I’ve made this year.  And I have to say – It’s got me in the mood to create more!  I found some other fun challenges that I just may have to take over the next few days.

Hope you are making time to get inky too.  It’s so satisfying that sometimes it’s worth leaving the dishes in the sink a little longer than planned…

I was so excited to be a top pick a couple of weeks ago with Retro rubber challenge blog!  

Like I’ve said before, I LOVE that it challenges us stampers to dig in to the stash of older stamps that we have!  After all, we bought them because we loved them.  They deserve more use than just the couple of times they probably got when they first arrived, right?!  This week, I’m playing along with challenge #75 Fall colors!

 

One last time for the year (most likely anyway), I’ve created an Autumn card.  This one is for a special Thanksgiving thank you.

It’s a pocket card using the Fall Fun stamp set by Stampin’ Up clear back in 2002.  That is actually a set that had tons of love back in it’s day.  I used it all the time!  It was great to pull it back out for this challenge.  The turkey is from a stamp set I bought at a craft store about 5 years ago.

You can pull out the inside piece to write on.  Instead of the traditional open-and-read kind of card, the recipient can pull this “Thanks” piece out of the pocket.  Always fun to switch things up.

I’m excited that Thanksgiving is so close!!  And I think I might start cranking out some Christmas cards.
