C9 Challenge #25

This month, Concord & 9th had color inspiration for their monthly challenge.  Here is the palette for it

It made me want to make a Fall wreath.  So with their stamp sets “So happy for you” and “Bits and Pieces” as well as the “Floral Hoop Dies” this is the wreath card that I came up with!

I love floral arranging in real life – and I think it’s even more fun on a card.  So this was extra fun to make!

Have a great weekend!

Concord & 9th “Thanks”

Hi!  I’m sliding in to the end of a card challenge with Concord & 9th for today’s card.  How could I have so much fun at their big event a couple Saturday’s ago and miss out on their Anything Goes challenge?!  I couldn’t.  I used a color combination from the Global Design Project challenge this week to get my ideas flowing.

Stampin’ Up! ink pads are my very favorite so I love a good challenge with colors.  I have never done a color combo like this one – challenge accepted!

I made a very simple card using the Give Thanks stamp set

That’s it for today!  Easy challenge, simple card, simple post 😉

Pineapple Aloha!

Just a quick stop in today to share a fun card.  I used the cute Pop Art Pineapple bundle by Concord and 9th to make a card to send off to someone who just had surgery.

The greatest thing about this is that they have it on sale today!!  They’ve got a Throwback Thursday deal going on with it and it’s a crazy good price!!

I also used the banner that comes in their current free gift with $60 purchase.

And my card is already off to the recipient and the next card I’m going to make is on my mind!  But for now – Aloha! (I just learned that also means “goodbye”!  I thought it was only “hello” lol)

Retro Rubber tic tac toe

I have been itching to sit back down and get going with stamping again.  But what a busy busy Summer it has been!  And quite a fun one as well.  I had a wonderful time spending a day with my daughter at the Concord and 9th headquarters on Saturday, meeting the owners, stamping and coloring all day and having a blast!  It was for Kathy Racoosin’s Coloring Challenge Road Trip and I felt so honored to get to meet her, Kristina Werner, and Lydia (with Understand Blue).  It got me so motivated to get stamping and blogging and posting on Instagram more often!  The world of stamping is full of the most wonderful people.  Everyone the my daughter and I visited with that day were just sweet as could be and I’m so grateful for the opportunity that it was!  And for the shot in the arm that my crazy love for my stamping hobby is definitely worthwhile and part of something great.  You’ll see lots of projects using Concord and 9th products because I came home with a big haul!! (yay!!)

But for today, I’m going to share a card using products from another company that I love – Lawn Fawn! Because last week I sat down to play along with the challenge by Retro Rubber Challenge blog. I used a Lawn Fawn set that is 3 years old now (that’s my favorite thing about Retro Rubber – they challenge you to use stuff in your stash that may want to be looked at again! 😉 )  So let’s get to it!  Here is the challenge

Isn’t that fun that you can look all across that tic tac toe board and challenge yourself to create a card using the 3 elements?!  I think so!  And I chose to do the 3 across on the bottom row.  Here is my card using birds, twine and leaves!

Wasn’t that the perfect set to use for this challenge?  I had a great time with the challenge, but then again, when is it not a great time to sit down to my stamp desk?!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello Bluebird

I have never found a farm set that made me feel like I had to have it. Until this adorable Hello Bluebird set! And it was perfect for a birthday card for a sweet friend who loves cows. So here’s a simple little Birthday card using the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set!

Have a wonderful day!

Rustic floral

Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by some wedding floral I just did.  Her bouquet was so pretty and had a nice rustic touch.  And when I saw the Paper Craft Crew card challenge, it was the perfect time to pull my idea together!

ppc #228

I used products by My Favorite Things, amuse studio and Reverse Confetti. blog cardI must add that I even pulled out an old Stampin’ Up! set with the year 1992 on it!!  Yes, I still have sets that old.  I have 2 shelves of some wood mounted sets that I will probably refuse to ever get rid of because I liked them so much!  It that pine needle and pine cone touch on the card that I used the set for.

blog card 3I also found another card challenge blog that I’m excited to follow!  It’s the TGIF challenges and looks like a really fun weekly challenge to participate in, with lots of encouragement to use these cards we are making for something simple and great with their kindness project!  I will be sending this card out as my R.A.C.K. to the lady I did the wedding floral for.  Her and her husband are in the military together and that touches a special place in our hearts for those out fighting for our freedoms.

TGIF April 2018 Challenges_new-002Truly, they are simply fabulous for all they do!!

And that’s my card – for 2 different challenges – for today!  Have I ever said card challenges are my favorite?!  I can’t get enough of them.  I’ve got 5 more on my mind and can’t wait to go create and pull something together with the great ideas these card challenge bloggers come up with!

Add some texture

Ahhhhh…  Sitting to my stamp desk again felt SOO good!  Everything got busy and stayed busy with the clan once Spring Break hit!  I’m challenging myself to make a card a day every day this week except for Saturday.  And I am looking forward to it 🙂

I played along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week which was “Add some texture” and they were featuring Tim Holtz products.  It’s a perfect fit because when I use Tim Holtz stuff, it always ends up “textury”!  There are some card makers out there that do an AMAZING job with it all the time.  For me – it stretches me because it’s not normally what I do.  It’s fun to add it in and this challenge was the perfect time to get all “Tim Holtz textured” again 🙂

The “because” die and the “You’re Missed” is by Lil Inker Designs

Dies from Avery Elle and Spellbinders plus a few little embellishments I have hanging around from Stampin’ Up! and my card was finished.

I might have to play with this style more often!

Totally die cut

Hello friends!  The card I’m sharing today is made entirely of die cuts!  It’s not very often that I make a card that has no stamping on it at all.  I had so fun layering all these  branches and flowers up to make a thick and lovely wreath.  The wreath, flowers and the branches are all part of the Spellbinders die set “Woodland wreath” and they sure layer up pretty!

I  also cut the hello from a beautiful Altenew’s set and layered it several times.  I then placed it in the center of the wreath.

Lastly, I added a bunch of embellishing gems, rhinestones, navy mini pearls, and lots of Nuvo drops!

spellbinders wreath card 4

It’s pretty in it’s simplicity, even though it a lot of time to create.  But the time it took was worth it!  And I can’t wait to send it out.

Happy Spring everyone!

My Favorite Things Sketch 376

My Favorite Things has a simple sketch for their current sketch challenge and I wanted to play along to make a couple of cards.  Here is the sketch

mft sketch photo

I’ve been in love with this Sweet Succulents set and the coordinating dies, so I just had to use them again.

mft sketch 18Wink of Stella always adds a nice touch and I especially loved it on these cacti!  Cacti?  Is that a word lol!  I haven’t used it forever.

And just for fun, I flipped the sketch and the orientation of the card to make another.

And that’s a wrap for today’s stamping!

I’ve got my eye on several other challenges.  Can’t wait to see what fun stuff I’ll be pulling out to create with next!  Is it possible to be addicted to challenges? ha ha!  They are so fun to stretch my stamping!

Hugs!
