Interactive Christmas

The final category for the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest is “Innovation Master”

And this card was so fun to make!  It’s got s simple look at first, but it’s got some fun surprises that give the receiver an opportunity to interact with it

mft innovation 7

Those 3 little flaps on the front of the card have some sweetness waiting underneath them – just like the lift-the-flap-books that kids love!  The MFT dienamics “Interactive Stitched Windows” was how I created those cute flaps

mft innovation 8

This is also a tri-fold card.  So when you open it once, you see the sequins surrounded little bears that were seen through the flaps on the front

mft innovation 5

mft innovation 4

Those white scalloped panels were made with a die out of the MFT Blueprints 27 dienamics set.  It’s one of my favorites!!  I grab for it all the time.  With some very careful measuring, I was able to match up the Interactive Stitched Window frame die so that I could cut it out to fit nicely over the peek-a-boo openings

mft innovation 2

After both folds are open, there’s the cute little bears, looking all ready for a Christmas hello

mft innovation

This fun card with it’s little surprises was worth the fine details it took to bring it together!  And these sweet “Bitty Bears” are a set that is definitely in my category of favorites

mft innovation 6

The Merry Christmas sentiment comes from the MFT Birdie Brown Greetings Galore set, which is so versatile that I reach for it quite often as well!

mft innovation 7

After all the fun mixing and matching of different sets of MFT Stamps and Dienamics, this card was finished

Thank you so much for stopping by to see it!  If you check out my Instagram post today, you can see me interacting with this card.

Have a happy rest of your Sunday!

Picnic Pals

Today I’m doing the “Coloring Virtuoso” category for the MFT Stamps challenge

And I am so in love with this adorable set “Picnic Pals”!

mft coloring virtuoso

I am on a big kick with the Zig Clean Color markers right now and that is what I used to color these adorable little friends.

mft coloring virtuoso 6

Along with the Picnic Pals stamps, I also used the coordinating dies, as well as the Stitched Snow Drifts Dienamics to create this fun little summer picnic scene.

Good Luck Panda

My Favorite Things has another fun challenge going on!

There’s 3 categories to the contest.  My card today is for the “Clean and Simple Genius” category.  I used the adorable MFT “Happy Panda” stamp set and dies.

mft clean and simple #2

After the panda and his “Good Luck” banner stamped and die cut, I stacked them on two layered rectangles from the MFT Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies and then added just a few glimmery green sequins

And this cute little guy is ready to wish a friend Good Luck in a clean and simple way!

Hope you are having a happy day!

Simon Says Kids Stamp!

I’m here with another sweet card from one of my kids.  This one is made by Savi, who is 11, for the Simon Says Stamp Kid’s Challenge

sss kids header

As I said before with the submission of the card my other daughter, Koi, made – it always makes me sooo very happy to watch the stamping talents of my children!  And every time they stamp, they seem to get better and better and better!

Here is Savi’s card!  She went with a mermaid theme, just as Koi did

sss savi

I love how she tried her hand at the distress ink blending with water splatters!

sss savi 3

And to add sparkle, she put glitter on the mermaid tail and fishes.  Isn’t it so sweet?!

sss savi 4

It made my day to see her work so hard to participate in this challenge.  I love that my kids love my hobby too!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Final Day of Camp Create

It’s the 5th and final challenge for the My Favorite Things Camp Create and I love it!

Web

I’m always blending an ombre on cards and card elements.  So this one was extra fun.  I made this birthday card using one of my favorite palettes ever – the shades of the ocean!

mft camp create 20

I used the Chevron Coverplate by MFT and the Bitty Bears stamps and dies

mft camp create 19

I made that tag using the adorable Fold-Up Tags dies as well.

I’m so happy I could participate in this challenge as well as all of the challenges in Camp Create!

Each one either taught me something new or gave me a great refresher!  There’s been some amazing projects to see throughout it as well.

MFT Camp Create Day 4

I went with greens for the Camp Create Day 4 challenge of

camp create day 4 header

This “Sweet Succulents” stamp set by MFT has been a favorite of mine since I got it

mft camp create 15

I used Zig markers to shade all these succulents in the varying shades of green to make it monochromatic.  Added a few sequins for some accents

mft camp create 17

And this card was complete!

mft camp create 16

I’m always needing a good card for someone going through a hard time so this will be nice to have on hand.  If you go to my Instagram, I did a fun speed through of me creating this card!

mft camp create 14

And that’s it for Day 4!  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my card for the final day of Camp Create.  Hope to see you back!

MFT Camp Create Day 3

After having a weekend of getting kids all ready for back to school, I’m back to finish up my participation in the My Favorite Things Camp Create!  The day 3 challenge is

Web

And here is my card using what I learned in the fun video

mft camp create 8

I used the MFT “Beautiful Blooms” stamp set and some bright colors to create my bold background

mft camp create 12

And then on a piece of vellum, I created a bold sentiment using the MFT “Little Letters” dies which I put on a piece of vellum so you can still see that fun background show underneath

mft camp create 9

mft camp create 13

I love that this card stretched me to use these bright colors because I always tend to grab for softer colors but I love the way these bright colors turned out together!  I also forget to grab alphabet dies for sentiments and the Day 3 video was a fun reminder to do so

mft camp create 11mft camp create 10

That’s it for today!  I’m finishing up my “monochromatic card” for the Camp create day 4 challenge and it’ll be up tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by to see my card for today

MFT Camp Create Day 2

Web

I’m having a fun time learning these new things that My Favorite Things is teaching through Camp create!   And this one is for day 2

Web

This particular type of masking is also something I haven’t ever done.  Like in the video, I also did both the positive and negative of the masking piece and here are the two cards that came out of that. I used the MFT sets “Modern Blooms” and also Birdie Brown’s Greetings Galore on both cards.  This first one had the mask covering all of the card except the circle, which I color blended in over the background stamp I had stamped and embossed.  Here’s the beginning!

mft camp create 7

mft camp create 2

mft camp create 4

For the second card, I used the opposite part of the mask to leave a white circle that I blended all around.  It gave a fun look to see the embossed background stay continuous but not colored.  I thought it looked cute to put the sentiment banner and some flowers over that part

mft camp create 3

mft camp create 6

Another fun technique that I enjoyed learning and trying out!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with my card made for Camp Create day 3!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

MFT Camp Create Day 1

Hi!  My cards today were made after watching the tutorial on My Favorite Things YouTube channel for Camp Create Day 1. Karolyn Loncon did an awesome job teaching how to do an inlaid die cut card.  I’ve never done one before so I was excited to learn!

mft camp create 1

It took me three times to get it right but I learned a lot with the first 2 mistakes.  Here is the final product

mft inlaid

The whole inlaid idea really gives it some fun interest!  Plus it will make it more easy to mail

mft inlaid 6

And to stick to my new goal of making more cards while I’m at it with one, I also made one that was close to the exact same but mounted up instead of inlaid

mft inlaid 2

mft inlaid 4

Giving dimension is something I already do on every card, so naturally I loved that version of it too!

Then I had some things left over from cutting all of that so I made one more card.  This has some inlay and some dimension

mft inlaid 3

The stripes and “love you” are inlaid and the hearts are stacked up for dimension – with some Wink of Stella added to them.   All the die cuts in these 3 cards are from My Favorite Thingsmft inlaid 5

I love them all and I’m excited for the new technique I know how to do now!  I’ll be back tomorrow with the Camp Create Day 2 challenge.

Big hugs!

Double Trouble in the Kitchen

I found a new challenge!  Anyone who visits my blog or Instagram, knows how much I LOVE card challenges!  I just love how they get my mind thinking of different things and stretching me to use the challenge in my card making.  This one is called the Double Trouble challenge.  It not only gives one challenge – it gives 2 and 3!  It really gets me thinking of different things to make at least 2 of the challenges work with whatever card I’m on.

Thing 1 says to use at least 3 colors, 2 pattern papers and 1 sentiment or image

double trouble thing 1

2 pattern papers is the thing that stretched me the most here!  I have pattern paper, I like pattern paper, but I don’t tend to use it very often on my cards!  But I did it for this.  Here is my card

double trouble card 4

I used the “Baker” stamp set from Pink and Main and the layout was inspired by Thing 2 of the challenge! Which comes from another card challenge site – which I had never heard of – Try Stampin’ on Tuesday

double trouble thing 2

double trouble card 8

And of course those cute little ingredients and whisk have to make something…double trouble card 2So when the recipient opens the card – there’s a cupcake!  Sprinkles and all

double trouble card 3

It was a very fun challenge to take and I look forward to getting in on “Double Trouble” again

double trouble card

Also – I’ve made a new goal for myself.  Every time I stamp a card, I need to either stamp 2 of the same card or else stamp another card with that same set before I put it away.  So here is my second card with this cute “Baker” stamp set

double trouble card 5

My sister owns her own bakery and it is amazing how fast she goes through mixing bowls, cookie sheets, mixing spoons and whisks and ingredients!

double trouble card 6

They definitely stack up like this and more in that fabulous kitchen of hers.  And everything that comes out of it is positively delicious!  So I thought of her the entire time I created these cardsdouble trouble card 7

So I think I’ll be giving them to her!

Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow 🙂
