3 challenges, one main image

Happy Saturday everyone! I did something really fun this weekend and I know I’ll be doing it again with my stamping. I took 1 main image and used it for 3 different challenges. I focused on one main technique – Emboss Resist. Each challenge gave me a different idea of what to do with the main stamp I wanted to use. The stamp is the “In My Heart” image from the February Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler

I started out by playing with it using the Emboss resist technique and some of my favorite colors by CP – All that Jazz, In the Park, and Cummerbund

I ink blended over the white embossed image – so pretty! I actually made an Instagram Reel of this one coming together. Head over there to see it!

I wanted to play with this cute image a couple more times. I took inspiration from the Color Throwdown color challenge, which looked very “Citrus” to me and I loved it!

I was also inspired by the idea to use watercolor when I saw that Happy Little Stampers had a “watercolor Anything Goes” challenge up

I grabbed the colors inspired by Color Throwdown and did watercolor over the image

I love those fun colors together!! The background is from the die that came in the Feb Club Sursee too called “Along the Arbor”. I cut it 3 times across my card panel

Finally, with my last embossed heart, I used Zig Clean Color pens. I scribbled a few complimentary colors in the pink/purple category and then sprayed it to blend them together

I used the sketch challenge over at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday as my idea for a layout for this final card

That cute background is the “Quilted Cover” background die by CP too

So as you can see, I used all Catherine Pooler products and focused on the one main image. It was so fun to do!! I frequently feel like I get stamps and they get put away with getting love. This was so fun to make these 3 cards and give my February Club Sursee some use!

Can you give this a try? Grab a stamp set or 2, a couple of dies, and look through some challenges! They are so fun to play along with and great ideas come from them!

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at these. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

March is here!!!

I’m so happy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when March arrives. I feel like it makes it official that we made it through Winter. With the arrival of this fabulous GREEN month, Double Trouble also has a new challenge!

Thing 1 wants to see the color of the month – Green! My card is nothing but a bunch of shades of it too

I used the adorable February Sursee stamp by Catherine Pooler. I embossed it with clear embossing powder and then did ink blending of her Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt and Garden Party

Thing 3 wants to see everyone include some plaid. So I stamped a column with a simple plaid background stamp that I have from my old SU! stash

With a touch of CP Boston sequins and some skinny ribbon, my card was finished – and so ready to give to a friend

We partnered up with Use Your Stuff challenge so if you do some green and some plaid to join us, you also qualify for their challenge as well! Be sure to head to Double Trouble for all the details and fun.

Happy March everyone! Here’s to some warmer weather coming our way 🙂

Inky hugs!

Chocolate makes everything better!

Hi everyone! What a relief to sit down and stamp again. It’s been a very busy week and I’ve missed my stamp desk!

But we are starting a new challenge over at Double Trouble and it was time to put the challenges together into a card!

Thing 1 wants to see layers! I chose this layered cake from Your Next Stamp and did lots of layers to bring my card together

Thing 3 wants to see lace and/or pearls. I love embellishments! But I don’t have anything that’s lace. So lots of pearls it was

My layout was inspired by the sketch over at TGIF

I colored this cute cake with alcohol markers. My color scheme was inspired by The Card Concept Challenge

I used dies from MFT as well as Simon Says Stamp

I grabbed a chocolaty brown envelope to go with my card and this project was finished

We partnered with Crafters Café for this challenge so if you use lace or pearls, you can go share your card there too! We hope you’ll play along. Visit Double Trouble for more details and all the fun!

Head to my Instagram to see my quick video of this card coming together!

Thanks for stopping by❤

Be Yourself

Happy Monday! Today starts Double Trouble’s 76th challenge and it’s a great one to get some Valentine ideas going!

Thing 1 is giving us the “3-2-1 Recipe” challenge. At minimum, use 3 embellishments, 2 pattern papers, 1 image. I used glitter, diamonds, and silver ribbon for my embellishments

This set is a very old set from Close to My Heart called “Be Yourself”. At a time of year when we are talking so much about love, let us always remember SELF LOVE! Being kind to ourselves and embracing who we are as individuals is so important 🙂 Thing 2 wants us to pair up with the Heart2Heart challenge “All you need is Love”

Thing 3 wants to see everyone use hearts and/or a love theme. There’s little hearts on my pattern paper as well as the obvious one above the silhouette

That cute slimline background die is from Catherine Pooler. I did some ombre ink blending with her beautiful inks – Pink Champagne and Party Dress

Head on over to my Instagram to see the 1 minute video of it coming together!

And be sure to head on over to Double Trouble to play along! We love to see your takes on the challenges, whether you play with one, two, or all 3!

Here’s to a fabulous week – hopefully full of stamping!

Thanks a bunch!

Happy Saturday evening! I have had a fun day stamping and used inspiration from 2 challenges to create a card. First was the current Global Design Project

And second was the TGIF challenge

What did the 2 design ideas have in common? Plaid! I am usually quite uncomfortable with plaid. I rarely use it because I usually feel like it’s “too much”. But there’s been so much of it lately and it’s all so cute. So I jumped in to these challenges to stretch myself and try out plaid after a very long time of avoiding it!

I used a sheet of plaid pattern paper as my place to start off. I grabbed the colors from it and went from there. I was inspired by the designer on the Global Design challenge and how she did floral with her plaid. So I went with that idea

I used the “Beautiful Bouquet” stamp set by Stampin’ Up! as well as the set’s coordinating dies. It was kind of fun to look at the colors on the plaid paper and use them to make this bouquet. They aren’t colors I’d normally reach for, so it was good for me to stretch my creativity! I used another piece of pattern paper that matched the green in the plaid as well as the stems. It has kind of a distressed look and I like it with the plaid piece!

And that is why I love jumping into challenges! They make me think outside my normal stamping box. And those of you who follow me, know how much love I declare for challenges! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by to see this one today

Shaker love you

I have a fun shaker card to share today! This one was made with a friend’s request in mind for a shaker card with farm animals. Fun!

I used the Hello Bluebird Farmyard Little Bits stamp set with coordinating dies

The background die is by MFT as well as the die cut sentiment. Those little squares were just calling to be filled with mini sequins!

If you head on over to my Instagram, you can see a quick video of this card coming together!

Thanks for visiting!

Hug Me

Hi again! I’ve got another card to share today! I’ve been so happy to be getting more stamp time in. I wanted to play along with the Paper Craft Crew “Romance” challenge

And got inspiration from the sketch at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge blog

So here’s my card!

I used products from Lil Inker Designs. I miss their cute products! I wish they were still around. But I love my little stash and will always keep it

Aren’t these little critters just adorable?! I colored them with alcohol markers and put them on a that cute Lil Inker tag

I love that cute heart die as the background. It’s also Lil Inker and it is actually two pieces! The open dots are a separate piece so if it’s not used, it’s just the cute stitched crooked heart. So fun! I’m a firm believer in keeping the supplies I love and pulling them out to be used!

Tomorrow I will post a video of this card coming together over on my Instagram. Go check it out to watch the fun process with these dies!

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you all have a wonderful week 🙂

Just a Note

Happy Monday everyone! Here’s the new Double Trouble Challenge!

I wanted to go extra simple on this card because the Double Dare from Thing 2 is to partner with Try Stampin on Tuesday for their sketch challenge and it’s a pretty clean sketch!

I filled the card up with a larger inner panel for my take on the sketch

Thing 1 would like to see some music! I thought this “Just a Note” theme was perfect

I went with a monochromatic style using only “Peacock” by Concord and 9th along with black and white

That cute little panda and the frame he’s in, is from Mama Elephant and goes right along with what Thing 3 wants to see – a zoo animal!

I wish there was a panda at the Zoo here in Utah. My daughter absolutely loves them! We’d have to travel pretty far to get to a Zoo that has one though

Of course a few sequins had to be added to finish my simple little card and it was done!

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a happy week and be sure to head to Double Trouble to try out this challenge yourself.

Snowflakes and more snowflakes!

Today I have a card I made to play along with the current challenge over at Honey Bee stamp‘s Facebook page!

I absolutely love the Honey Bee layering snowflakes dies and started by cutting a bunch of them out of navy and gray-blue cardstock

I coated the blue-gray snowflakes in glitter and layered those with the navy ones all over a card panel

I added rhinestone gems all over the card to add even more sparkle! And finished it with a simple sentiment “because you’re amazing” from the “Because” stamp set by Honey Bee

Of course while I had the snowflake dies out, I had to cut a few more out and do something with pink! So I blended them to be a little ombre and made a little notecard

A quick little “thanks” is always handy to have in the stash!

The possibilities with these snowflake dies are endless! I will probably cut more before putting them away. What could be more perfect for a January card?!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your weekend is going wonderful!

Sparkly Winter

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a tall, sparkly, slimline card. I’m playing with the Happy Little Stampers current challenge by using lots of die cuts

I used the “Lets Go Skating” stamps by Catherine Pooler. I love these winter branches with berries as well as the wintry pinecones. And of course everything is glittery glittery!

The white glitter paper is stitched around the edges with the “Post This” slimline die, also by Catherine Pooler. The wonky stitched oval is by My Favorite Things

With Nuvo drops to accent the white and some glitter dots to give interest around the foliage, this card was complete

Happy Winter to everyone! I wish everything was white and blue and sparkly like this card. But unfortunately it’s just all dirty leftover snow and dead trees, grass, and bushes. It’s ok though! All part of winters where I live 🙂

Hugs!
