Lattice Get Well

Hello!  Here we are at the end of September and I can hardly believe it!

Double Trouble has a new challenge today and it’s everyone’s favorite – Anything Goes!

It’s always fun to hear Thing 1 say “make something anything everything!”

I used some Spellbinders dies and made a Get Well card.

Thing 3 gives the option to use the sketch from TOST. This is a sneak peek today, as this challenge doesn’t start until tomorrow!

That design on the sketch reminded me of lattice and that’s where I got my inspiration to make a lattice panel covered in flowers

Thing 2 gives the option of using any other challenge.  I love how Double Trouble supports other challenge blogs!  I saw that over at the As You Like It challenge, they are asking what your favorite die is and why. For me – florals!! I love floral dies because I can cut a bunch and arrange them all pretty using different colors and styles.  Which I love to do with fall floral too!

But with dies, I can do floral arrangements much more often on cards and color them any color I want through different techniques.  The floral on the lattice I made today was colored by sponging with different coordinating inks.

Head to Double Trouble for the link to add whatever you have created!  We can’t wait to see all the designs in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by!

Simple doodle thank you

Happy Monday!  Here’s the new challenge starting today with Double Trouble

Thing 1 wants to see your doodle images!  You can hand draw these or stamp them. Use 3 to meet the recipe requirements.  Also be sure to use 2 layers and add 1 sentiment. More is ok for any of the recipe if you want to use more!

I made a very clean and simple card.  Inspired by the sketch at TSOT , which Thing 2 is encouraging.  Their sketch will go live soon, this is just a sneak peek!

I patterned my card after that style except for the sentiment, which I moved up by the doodles

Thing 3 says to use a punch of color.  I chose to do plum and kept it mostly monochromatic to keep with the CAS style

Can’t wait to see the doodle images that all participants use on their cards!  The cute little doodle images on my card are from a very old set by Stampin Up! called “Doodle That”. I haven’t used it for years!  I love that this challenge inspired me to pull it out

I love you

My card today desires one of my favorite things – seashells!! This is for the new Double Trouble challenge that starts today

For the Thing 1 recipe, we have

3 layers

2 images

1 aperture

The pretty seashells are by Gina K and the die border is by Spellbinders.

Thing 3 challenges you to fill in the aperture! You can do that with images or with shaker bits. I haven’t made a shaker card in a long time so I chose that option

Finally, Thing 2 challenges you to use the TSOT sketch

I used the sketch but shifted the sentiment to be on top of the shells

We hope you will decide to join us and play along with this fun recipe and twists!

Thanks for stopping by today

So much to be grateful for!

Today I have a card that is a completely new to me style!  Have you ever made a fan fold card? It’s in the option by Thing 3 this time at Double Trouble and also goes with the Double Dare by Thing 2

Thing 1’s recipe – Mix it up!

3- layers

2- pattern papers

1- sentiment

I used a past Spellbinders card kit for these cute papers and the sentiment piece. I love the colors!

Thing 3 is asking to see a fan fold card as the optional twist.  And it goes perfectly with the sketch for TSOT, which Thing 2 would love to see you try out!

Such a completely unique sketch and technique!  I love it when I get pushed out of my box and this was fun to try!

Can you give the fan fold a try, follow the recipe, and join us this time around?

More details at Double Trouble!

Thanks for stopping by❤️

Be your own kind of beautiful

Hello!  Happy Monday and happy August! Here’s the new challenge for Double Trouble

Thing 1 has a new recipe for us

3 colors

2 layers

1 spotlight technique

And I used Thing 3’s option of blooms!

Thing 2 had a fun sketch from TSOT if you want to play along there.  I incorporated it a little by making my spotlight be where the hexagon is in the sketch.

We hope you will play along with these fun challenges!

Hey Gullfriend

Happy Monday!  I can’t believe we are more than halfway through July!  And time for a new challenge at Double Trouble

I made a very summery card for this one!

Here is the recipe by Thing 1, which is the only requirement to follow

3- layers

2- images (stamped or die cut)

1- stitched element

Thing 3 sys to use a fun pun sentiment.  I sometimes feel like I don’t know when to use the puns that come in stamp sets, so this was a great time to! I thought the “hey gullfriend” was cute with the seagull images. This is a set from Pink and Main

The layout of my card was inspired by the Thing 2 option to play along with the sketch at TSOT

I’ve never made a card with that kind of layout, so it was fun to think outside the box.  That’s what sketches do!

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today!  We hope you’ll join us!

Shiny shimmery Christmas in July

I’ve been seeing lots of Christmas cards lately!  I think it’s such a great idea to get some done early in the year.  So for the new challenge at Double Trouble, I went for it!

The recipe from Thing 1 says to use

3 colors

2 stamped images

1 sentiment

Thing 3 says to shine and shimmer!  The snowflakes and sentiment are silver embossed. The edges of my circles, as well as the splatters in the background are glitter embossed with the blue, pink and green.  Lots of shine and shimmer!

And last of all, Thing 2 is sharing the sketch by TSOT, which I based my design around

Circles and splatters!

This one definitely stretched me but I’m glad to have a Christmas card done in July!

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you’ll play along!

Hope all is well

How can June be more than halfway over?! I can hardly believe it but I’m enjoying summer so far. How about you?

My card today is for the new challenge up over at Double Trouble

Thing 1’s recipe is titled “summer fun fold”

3- red, white +1 color.  I chose green!

2- shapes. I did rectangle and circle

1 – fun fold.  Mine is a tri fold with a belly band

Thing 3 says to add fireworks or glitter.  I did glitter on the pink flowers.  It’s a little tough to see in pictures but is so pretty!

The cute paper is from an old Stampin Up! stash and the flowers are from Reverse Confetti.  Sentiment is Spellbinders.

Thank you for stopping by!  Head to Double Trouble to get more details and to play along!

Sailing hello

It’s a new week and a new challenge at Double Trouble!

Thing 1 has given us a recipe and a theme of “My Guy” to get us making Father’s Day cards!

3 layers, 2 pattern papers, 1 kraft piece

Thing 3 says to include an element that represents what your guy loves to do

This sailboat image is from Stampin Up! and is seriously probably 20 years old!  My guy doesn’t necessarily live to sail – but being on a boat on the ocean to fish is definitely a favorite way to spend his time when he can!

When I make a masculine card, it’s usually very clean and simple.  It just seems to be more masculine to me.

What does a guy in your life like to do? Make a masculine card featuring that and play along with us at Double Trouble!

Thanks for stopping by today

Oh sweet Summer!

Summer is here, and so is the heat!!  And it’s time for a new challenge at Double Trouble!

Thing 1 is calling this one “Sun Fun” and has a recipe of

3- torn edges

2- colors

1- punched or die cut or ephemeral item

Thing 3 says to include flip flops.  That’s my favorite kind of shoe!  I’m always wearing flip flops. These cute images are from Catherine Pooler and the pretty paper is from Stamperia

Thing 2 says to play along with TSOT challenge if you want to add in some extra fun. The sketch is great for a torn paper design!

And with those fun prompts, pull out your summer images and see what flip flops you have in it!  Make a card and link it up at Double Trouble – we’d love to see it

Thanks for stopping by to see my beachy card today!
