Getting back to stamping!

image

It felt so good to sit down and take time on a card after busy holidays kept me from doing that much. I think this little girl, from a My Favorite Things stamp set, is so cute. Maybe I was drawn to the idea of a warm looking scene because it’s so freezing cold here in Utah! I made it for this addicted to stamps challenge.
My next goal is to sit down with some challenges and get creative on a consistent basis.

Paper Pumpkin

I love sitting down with each new Paper Pumpkin I get from Stampin’ Up! I thought the November kit was cute. Love their color “Cherry Cobbler” and it was the main color for the kit. I almost always switch it up a bit.

I added the gold foiling for some shine and those little gold pieces mixed in with the holly leaves? Those were from last month’s kit

I didn’t really like them on the card in that kit. But I thought they were cute tucked in behind the “Joy”.

Very simple

I just cut a little off the right side of the front of the card and added some coordinating strips on the inside.
Yay for a good Paper Pumpkin!

Stamp of Approval

Sitting down to make more cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive and had really fun pulling this set out from my Holiday Wishes Stamp of Approval box

It’s called Bright Baubles and is adorable and super fun to play with.
Although I made this one for the drive, it gets me excited to start thinking about the cards I’ll make for Christmas this year!

Share Handmade Kindness

One of my favorite people to follow is Jennifer McGuire. Not only because she is one of the most amazing card creators ever, but because she uses her platform to bless others. I love her new “Share Handmade Kindness” project and will be doing my best to take every single challenge she posts for it. Here is the card I made for the first goal of giving some handmade kindness to “Friends and Family”.

The biggest challenge I have is getting the card out that I intend to get out. Time goes by and I end up feeling bad I “never send that card”. This challenge will be good for me to just get that card in the mail or to that neighbor or family member. I’m going to give this card to my mom- who always goes above and beyond to make sure every family gathering is amazing. Sometimes to a fault.

Back to the blog

I still want to practice at this blogging thing I’ve decided. For a little bit, I thought I would bag it. But…here I am to keep trying. I’m having too much fun with all my card making and this is just the place to collect the things I’m making. So, here’s today’s card. wpid-photogrid_1417360938656.jpg

Coordinating Shaker Card

My daughter wanted a cute card to coordinate with this gift bag for her friend

image

I keep seeing shaker cards everywhere and I was in the mood to try one. So I grabbed some colors and supplies that matched and started the fun.

image

The two went so cute together! It made her even more excited to give the gift.

image

I love it that she gets excited about a cute card the way I do! And the shaker was every but as fun as the tutorials make them look.

Playin’with the Pumpkin!

Finally got to play with my September Paper Pumpkin by Stampin Up! and it was fun!

image

I normally don’t buy Halloween stamps cuz I don’t really like Halloween, except the part where I get to dress my kids up in cute things. But the stamps in this kit were actually really cute and most of them can be used for much more than just this creepy holiday.

image

But I did put together some fun cards and tags using the components of the kit for passing out some Fall treats to neighbors.

And I couldn’t resist adding this little spider from an old tag set. I’m waiting for my next Paper Pumpkin to arrive any day now!
