Wishing you a joyful Christmas

Happy Monday everyone!! There’s a fun new challenge over at Double Trouble!

Thing 2 wants to team up with Try Stampin’ on Tuesday by using their sketch

Thing 1 and Thing 3 want us to do “on, off, or over the edge”. If you head to the blog, there are some great video links of this technique being done. It was the first time I have ever done it!

If you look closely, you can see that the holly at the top hangs over the folded edge. Here is the inside of the card that gives you a better glimpse

I used products from the new release over at Catherine Pooler and I am in love with them! These 2 colors are brand new to her ink line as well! I had to make these 3 ornaments sparkly

Now that I’ve done this technique, I think I’ll try it in several different ways in the future!

I did record a video of this coming together if you want to see a quick blip of that – head on over to my Instagram!

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back this week with a couple more projects I’m excited about.

Hugs!

Hello!

Hi everyone! Happy weekend! I’ve got a Fall card for you today and it is my entry to the Global Design Project sketch challenge that inspired me

I loved the idea of the 3 vertical rectangles with the horizontal sentiment strip over the top. As I got going with it, the rectangles in the back become the more subtle part and the sentiment strip became the bold

I grabbed some Autumn colored Stampin’ Up! pattern paper to give more interest to the layers

That big “hello” die is from Catherine Pooler and the leaves are as well

I carefully painted each leaf with a Wink of Stella glimmer pen and then slowly traced over it with the Stampin’ Up! fine tip glue pen. I stamped an envelope to coordinate with my card

And this is ready to send!

Thanks for stopping by to visit! Have a fabulous weekend 🙂

Autumn Happy Birthday

I need more birthday cards! So for the next several posts – you just might see them. I was inspired by this cute image over at The Card Concept

And Gina K’s Monthly Mix Challenge is to create an Autumn card. So with that, I got to creating

These beautiful stamps and dies are from the Gina K “Free to Flourish” set

The things that inspired me on The Card Concept inspiration image was the colors, the black and white stripes, and the chalkboard

Aren’t Autumn colors just so pretty?! I love the black and white added in

I used alcohol markers to color these images

And with a coordinating Gina K envelope – this card is ready to give!

Thank you for stopping by to see my card!

Big hugs

Sending Sunshine

Hi everyone! I wanted to start out by saying thank you to Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for the top pick in their last challenge! I’m excited to be a guest designer for them in the future!

Winners Badge 2016

Today we start another fun challenge over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog!

For this challenge, Thing 1 wants us to make a scene! I wanted to play with the sketch challenge going on at My Favorite Things so I used that as my initial inspiration and made that front square the main space for my beachy scene

These adorable stamps come from the MFT set called “Sunny Vibes”

The fun pattern paper on that back square is also MFT and comes from the Christmas paper pack “Plaid Patterns Merry and Bright”. The colors were perfect for the colors I chose for the images!

I used Zig Clean Color markers to color everything, as well as a bit of ink blending for the sand and sea. Thing 3 wants to see a mode of transportation on your card! Isn’t that little van with the surf board propped against it so so cute?!

Thing 2 wants everyone to join up with The Paper Girls “Around the World” challenge. In my opinion, all travel should include someplace close to the beach ha ha! So this little scene could be a lot of places! But if I had to pick a top fave, I’d say the Southwest gulf of Florida.

And that’s my card that incorporates these challenges! It’s so fun to have all the different inspiration to pull a card together. Head over to my Instagram to see my video of this card coming together!

Big hugs!

Hi!

I can’t believe it’s been 13 days since I’ve stamped!  Well, I can believe it – life has been busy with back to school stuff!  But it sure was fun to sit down and make this card for the new Double Trouble challenge that starts today!

dtc 65 graphic

It’s an “Anything Goes” type of challenge so we sure hope you will share what you’ve been making!

Thing 2 says to partner with any previous partner.  I chose Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Playing with that challenge helps me get use out of older stamps! Their current challenge is a sketch

RRCB 142

So with that sketch in mind – I got stamping!

Thing 3 wants us to try the optional twist of including a phone.  In all my stamps I’ve collected over the years, I only have ONE stamp that is a phone!  This one is from the Stampin’ Up! set “Girlfriend Accessories” made back in 2002!!

dtc 65 4

It’s got such a fun teenager theme so I went with bright and funky colors

dtc 65 2

A bright green envelope to put it in finishes this off nicely!

And this fun phone card is done.  Ready to say hi to someone!

Look through your stamps and see if you have a little phone waiting to be used.  Be sure to go link up at Double Trouble!

Thanks for stopping by today –

Feel Better

Happy Friday everyone!  I’m here again with another card.  The color inspiration over at Lawn Fawnatics is absolutely amazing!

The sunsets where I live have been so breathtaking lately.  I had to try this color palette out to create a little sunset on a get-well card.

It was fun to take on this challenge because it is very bold and bright and that usually stretches me!  I tend to go for softer colors and cards with quite a  bit of white space.  But these sunset colors are just so pretty

lawn fawnatics 16

I used Distress Inks to blend this sunset together and that adorable potted sunflower comes from the Lawn Fawn set “Friendship Grows”

I made one of my quick videos of this card coming together!  You can find it on my Instagram.

This is why I’m so crazy for card challenges – they stretch me to try things I probably wouldn’t have!  Thanks for stopping by to see this one today!

Have a super happy weekend!

Clean and Simple + 3 colors

Hello!  Today starts a new challenge over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog.  It’s a little earlier this time because we are playing with Color My Heart Color Dare and this fits their dates a little better.  Here’s the fun that Thing 1, 2, and 3 have in store for us

Image may contain: text

My inspiration started flowing when I saw sketch #385 over at CAS(E) this sketch!

So with my clean and simple thoughts for a card, I pulled out an good ol’ stamp set (you know I love doing that sometimes!) called “Blooming with Happiness” by Stampin’ Up!

dtc 64

“You make me happy when skies are gray” is what Thing 1 says – so we needed to use gray on our card and make it an encouraging card to share some happy with a friend who could use it

dtc 64 4

Thing 3 says to add 2 more colors and that also qualifies you for the extra dare over at Color My Heart!  So with my gray card base and some gray flowers in the umbrella, I added some soft peach and mossy green

dtc 64 3

Some wink of stella always adds the right touch!

dtc 64 2

And with that, this clean and simple card is finished!  Be sure to head to Double Trouble to play along with this challenge!  These kinds of cards are always fabulous to have on hand 🙂

Hugs!

Hello Sunshine!

I loved the new sketch over at My Favorite Things!

I went with my first idea that came to mind and that was to add those stripes to a banner on my card front

Tiger Thanks!

Happy Monday!  We’ve got a new challenge over at Double Trouble and hope you will all play along!

dtc 63 graphic

Grab your embossing goodies and critter images and get creating!  Thing 3 has a twist to grab your favorite dog or critter.  As I went through my stamps, I saw this cute set from Clearly Besotted that I haven’t used in forever!  The tigers are what stood out to me so I got stamping with them

dtc 63 2

Aren’t they so cute?!  I dry embossed the background to go along with Thing 1’s challenge

dtc 63 3

This card is going to my sweet little neighbor who always makes homemade suckers for the neighborhood kids.  We want to thank her for such sweetness 🙂

dtc 63

Thing 2 wants us all to pair with the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies, so if you’ve added a critter to your card, be sure to share there too!

Thanks for stopping by to see my card.  Head over to Double Trouble to play along!

Hugs!
