Teal and gold notecards

Hi again! I saw this challenge by Color Throwdown and it didn’t look like one that would be easy for me. So I jumped in for the challenge! Sometimes I think it’s fun to force myself to make a card that is out of my normal box. And I like all kinds of styles, from clean and simple to very detailed! Today I created with a more simple style to go along with these colors

I dug into my Concord and 9th stash because I feel like I haven’t used any of it for so long! I chose to use the “Give thanks” stamps and dies, as well as the “You are lovely” die set

I found myself 2 “bonuses” by shopping my own stash lol –

1- I didn’t realize I had that cute hexagon die that is part of the “you are lovely” dies! I can’t believe it’s sat for so long unused. I love that thin border! I embossed it with gold to go around the white hexagon

2- I didn’t realize this set had a feather in it! I was looking at it wondering what a couple of the pieces were and it donned on me! So I played with it, and sure enough, cute little feather

The mini slim dies are from Kat Scrappiness and I love them! I like that I could use the smaller ones for these smaller sized cards.

I’m glad I pulled out these stamps and gave them some love while trying out this color combo that I’ve never tried! It turned out to be a great one for these clean and simple cards.

Thanks for stopping by! See you again in the morning

In the backyard

If you follow me, you know how much I LOVE card challenges!! Well, I have been accumulating more and more products from Close to my Heart so I wanted to start playing with some challenges that seem to use those products a lot. Today I am playing with Heart2Heart

We moved to Texas just over a year ago and one of our favorite things about our property is that there is a lake in our backyard! And even better – we can fish in it! So my card today is one that is fishing themed

I used the Bait and Tackle set for this one and added lots of details and interest with all the different images in the set, as well accents that added to the feel of my card

So there is my card based around my backyard! And here is a picture of the sun going down while we were down at the lake. Such a serene sunset.

Thank you for visiting today and I’ll see you again Monday morning with the newest challenge from Double Trouble

Keep Going, Keep Growing

Happy Monday! There’s a new challenge up over at Double Trouble and Thing 1 wants to see what we do to relax!

There’s a few favorite things I love to do to relax but for my card today, I focused on reading

My favorite kind of reading is my scriptures. I love to study them and journal in them! They definitely keep me growing and going

I used 2 sets by Gina K to bring my card together

Whimsical Wildflowers and Open Book. Thing 3 is giving the optional twist to add flowers. These flowers sitting with this book are so pretty!

What do you do to relax? If you make a card showing us, and add some flowers too- you can also enter your card in our challenge partner’s link! This time it’s Crafters Cafe and their challenge is “National Relaxation Day”

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. I hope you have a wonderful week!

A Summer Note

Hello! My card today is sweet, simple, and Summery. The Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is “Summertime Blues” and they are highlighting products by My Favorite Things

Does anything speak Summertime more than watermelon? This cute little critter sitting and enjoying some is so sweet

I used the stamp sets “Picnic Pals” and “Greetings Galore” by My Favorite Things. My simple layout was inspired by the sketch over on the MFT challenge blog

All the dies I used are also MFT.

Thanks for stopping by today!

More Summer!

I have a fun card today using some old Summer stamps I have in my stash by Catherine Pooler!

It has been so hot here where I live!! Ice cream and Popsicles to the rescue!

I love digging in to my stash to get a card made. One of my favorite challenges likes us all to do the same! Retro Rubber Challenge blog. And this time around is Anything Goes!

The fun circle stamps highlight all the sweet treats on this card

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today! If you head to my Instagram, there’s a fun Reel video of this one coming together 💕

Mr and Mrs

Hello! Today I’m sharing a card full of extra layery goodness! It is for the new challenge starting today at Double Trouble

I used stamps and dies by Stampin Up! I have definitely not used them enough!

I went with a mixed media style and did lots of distressing. Thing 1 says to give your card some “smore” layers and details! I added pockets and different pieces that can be pulled out as well as dimension

Thing 2 wants to see a fun fold. With all my pockets and layering on the front, I decided to do a simple tri fold so it wouldn’t be too much. But it’s still a fun fold as it’s not the usual opening

We partnered up with “Creative Creases” for this one and their challenge is Anything Goes! So dig in to your supplies and make a fun card with a different kind of fold. We’re excited to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by to see mine today!

You are the Pearl

Hi everyone! I have a fun card today that I made to join the current Cut it Up challenge. Their theme is “Summer Lovin” and I filled my card with Summer fun!

I haven’t made a flip-slider (or waterfall, some call it) in forever! I thought it would be fun to add all these cute ocean pieces in that way

So fun for the recipient to pull that little tab and get kind of a “storybook” as the little tabs flip!

The sentiment reminds me so much of the H2o series that my daughters used to love watching!

All the stamps and dies used on my card today are by Mama Elephant

Thank you for stopping by to see my card! If you head to my Instagram, there’s a fun quick video of it coming together!

Big hugs!

Deck the halls

Hello and happy Friday!! A new Double Trouble challenge starts now even though it’s not a Monday. Jump in and play!

Thing 1 wants to see more Christmas in July with this one! But Thing 3 is adding a different twist – BLING!

So I started my card panel with a background stamp that looks “blingy”. I embossed it to be shiny and then I added all my other elements over that

All the pretty Christmas foliage around the sentiment gives a fun “floral arrangement” feel and then of course I added more bling with the diamonds all around the foliage

If you make a Christmas card and add bling on it, then you qualify for Thing 2’s challenge partner – Jingle Belles Rock “Bling it on”! Be sure to visit Double Trouble’s blog for all the details and to play along!

Christmas Hello

We are playing “Christmas in July” over at Double Trouble!

There’s a fun optional twist to use the Color Dare Crazy 8 square – which I love! Choose 4 of the blocks on the chart to make your card. I used the bottom row plus “snowflakes”

Aren’t those little trees cute? They come from Close to my Heart. I added the snowflakes by stenciling them softly behind the tree. I also added little glitter dots for a sparkly snowy feel

I’m excited to see what 4 blocks each entrant chooses to create a Christmas card! It’s full of so many possibilities. I love these alternate Christmas colors so much and it was also fun to make a clean and simple card again. Haven’t been making those much but they build the stash fast!

The color block is from Color My Heart Color dare challenge, which Thing 2 has us partnering with. Be sure to enter you card there too!

Thanks for stopping by to see my card! I hope you are inspired and will play along with us at Double Trouble.

Thinking of you Friend

Hi everyone! I’m back with another card for the Double Trouble challenge #114! We’re playing with Atlantic Hearts second card sketch and it’s a fun one!

Thing 1 wants to see a unique background on this one too! I had fun with an embossing folder this time around

After dry embossing my kraft cardstock, I gently brushed white ink over the design to make it pop

I used soft ink colors to do simple water coloring on the flowers and then I fussy cut them to place all around the 3 circles that were the focus of this sketch. Those are also water colored with a soft blue ink

We hope to see you play along with this sketch too! It’s fun to look at a sketch and see how you can interpret it to be completely unique.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to visit the Double Trouble challenge blog for more details and to enter your card!
